For me Iffraaj was seriously impressive and a great ride from Frankie.
I think 7F is probably his optimum distance but he could probably get a mile well enough. I also think he has enough speed for 6F, but would want to be ridden close to the pace.
Great for Godolphin, especially with their open attitude to the public regarding their horses, shown once again with Electrocutionist last Saturday.

August 1, 2006 at 18:31 #74525Having backed Etaala each-way (fifth under Dick Hills) I’d rather not dwell on this race, and just for good measure I backed the second and third win only at silly prices…doh!
August 1, 2006 at 18:33 #74526The time wasn’t very good considering Ifraaj had a clear run all the way. The pace looked steady until the winner quickened away from the others who were getting in each other’s way. A canny ride from Frankie. Visually impressive, certainly, but I wouldn’t put too much trust in the solidity of the form. Next time it might be somebody else’s turn to steal the race.
August 1, 2006 at 18:53 #74527Impressive alright, but 8s for the BC mile? Nah.
August 1, 2006 at 19:02 #74528I agree with the majority. Iffraaj couldn’t have got things more his own way if _ _ _ _ _ _ / _ _ _ _ _ _ had fixed it himself.
If the second and third are true markers of the form then Iffraaj hasn’t needed to be any better than his previous form.
I was on Nayyir. Enough said.

Alan,
I hope that’s as true over two  mile five as it is over seven…..
