    Seemed like the first real race I’d watched for ages.

    I backed Shooters Wood, which I knew when I put the money down would come last or near enough: I have that power over Nicholls’ horses.

    French Opera was third horse in doubles from 3 so would have enjoyed it plenty more if he’d held on :)

    I do like the enigma that is Wishfull though.
