When you read things like this, don’t you just feel a little less of a human being than previously? Truly sickening and unbelievable.

October 27, 2007 at 07:33 #121606I agree Mike – unbelievable that people are being reared in this country who go on to consider this type of behaviour to be acceptable. The fact that it even crosses someones mind to behave this way is staggering.
Some of those who viewed the whole episode as entertainment and stood by watching and laughing should also have been hauled up in court and given six months IMO.
October 27, 2007 at 08:08 #121610We have so called entertainment like Jackass & Dirty Sanchez where self mutilation is suppose to be funny. The popularity of these shows tells a great deal about the youth of today, I despair for the future.
October 27, 2007 at 08:14 #121611Whats shocking is he only got three years. Just imagine what would happen if these unregulated sites gave away money for posting clips.
I dont understand how you can just post a video of anyone without there permission surely all videos should be vetted first even if it costs thecompany lots of money to employ new staff.
October 27, 2007 at 08:57 #121614I think I’m right in saying that the case was referred to the Teeside court from a local court so that they could pass a higher sentence if they hadn’t he would have got less than 3 years. This is one of the worst stories I’ve heard in a long time.
October 27, 2007 at 10:41 #121629I felt sick reading it. He looks like a pathetic, evil ******* and clearly is one. Should have got ten in solitary…
October 27, 2007 at 11:14 #121637I know two wrongs do not make a right but in an ideal world he would spend the last day of his sentence in the stocks where he could get a taste of his own medicine – and worse.
This individual is beneath contempt and, quite frankly his "friends" are no better.
I would like the police / CPS, at the very least, to explain why the person who filmed it was not prosecuted as well.
When I read things like this I really do despair.
Last, but not least, what must the poor womans family be going through?
October 27, 2007 at 11:41 #121648Yes, truely horrible .. she wasn’t even an Iraqi.
October 29, 2007 at 18:49 #122170Hi everybody
I’m not one for capital punishment but a long drawn out torturing is the only thing that could befit such a disgusting crime.
Nonetheless, I have smoked joints and watched youtube videos more times I can remember. Sometimes I even do both at the same time
But not once have I ever urinated on some poor soul’s deathbed. When stuff like this happens, which tends to be pretty often, some people can’t help but search frantically for something to blame and that something usually ends up being harmless if used responsibly.
There are reasons why this guy did what he did but those reasons aren’t something we can even start to contemplate since we’d need a much more complex character profile of this scumbag than just saying Youtube… Beer… Cannabis… Soldier… THAT’S IT!!!

Precisely. For every one person that gets inspired to put – or contemplate putting – something as gruesome as this on Youtube, there are however many millions worldwide who will use it entirely responsibly, blamelessly and with ne’er a wicked thought flickering past their mind’s eyes (something the Mail and Express tend to forget when it suits them).
See also the millions of video games users who have not re-enacted scenes from Doom on real people; the millions of rock and metal fans who have never sacrificed an animal; and the millions of Facebook / Myspace / Friends Reunited users who have not launched extensive hate-mail campaigns on former lovers or classmates.
This tool, of course, was one of those tragic, despicable few exceptions.

October 29, 2007 at 22:27 #122212Cheers for the omission of the ironic subjectivism in my quote. I’m glad somebody spotted it
October 30, 2007 at 10:00 #122260I was quite appauled by this story ..
These people’s lives were made such a misery that they ended up killing themsleves. The police were on the telly later on saying how awful it all was for these people and how they knew they had had bricks thrown through their windows etc, BUT it wasn’t their fault. I think the inquest into these deaths will be interesting because it will be all about how it’s nothing to do with the police or the wider community that they lived in.
My Missus works with problem children. Last week one of them had hit her with a metal glasses case across the back of her hand so hard that its damaged her fingers. They thought her hand was broken, but its not but she has to have it strapped up for the next three weeks. The upshot of this is that they have had a few meetings about this behaviour and they are trying to get rid of him from the school because the school doesn’t have the power to discipline him. The boy himself doesn’t give a toss, he isn’t made to give a toss.
We live in a society where its ok to do exactly what you want so long as you dont get caught or punished for doing it. We learn compassion for others through our own suffering and by not doing to others what we would not have done to ourselves. When we let children run riot and then they grow up to be monsters why are we surprised?
