Outlaw Tom’s handicap mark has been dropped from 107 to 100. This is significant as it now makes him eligible for Class 5 0-100 events where he would be taking on inferiors. This sort of rating drop is what some horses need to be able to dominate lower class fields and hopefully Tom’s enthusiasm might be re-kindled. It’s the drop that takes a horse into a lower class band that can be the key.
There are a number of target races around the end of January.
As an aside it would be nice if he was dropped to the same mark over fences, but the different marks are apparently independent and Outlaw Tom remains on 107 in that sphere.
