A class act to win the race with no stirrups. Kept his horse at the back, made steady headway and never thought of giving up. I don’t know what price he was in running, but to race over a circuit under such circumstances and still win the race, left me speechless.
Well done, Hugh!
February 21, 2021 at 14:04 #1523990Tremendous, coming round the home turn I was thinking he must have something in the tank if he’s persevering !!!
February 21, 2021 at 14:14 #1523994One for the best ride of the year poll in December. And it will take a good one to beat it.
February 21, 2021 at 14:16 #1523996We should have a whip round for Hugh because as one wag on twitter has said “he won’t be claiming the childrens allowance” :-D
February 21, 2021 at 14:20 #1523997Hugh Morgan and his bruised organ.
This will be a good display of recency bias when nobody even nominates this for Ride of the Year in December.
February 21, 2021 at 14:22 #1524000Not if he was gelded prior to his riding career.
February 21, 2021 at 17:49 #1524073I’ve just watched the race, it’s got to be the ride of the year.
I doubt many would even have carried on without irons after the
1st fence. Outstanding horsemanship from Hugh
February 21, 2021 at 17:55 #1524074The horse touched 500 in-running at Betfair Exchange – that helps quantify the scale of the achievement, I feel.

It's the "Millwall FC" of Point broadcasts: "No One Likes Us - We Don't Care"February 22, 2021 at 18:29 #1524393Just watched the replay, that was an absolutely brilliant riding performance, fully agree with Ruby who gave him 110 out of 10 for it!
Great achievement,he shouldn’t be a 5lb claimer for much longer. - AuthorPosts
