January 8, 2012 at 12:05 #386037Although it is sad to read the HRI lists, it is good that we are able to trace what has happened to the Irish horses. Does anyone know if there is an English equivalent of this, as I always like to find out if a fallen horse horse is ok and sometimes have to scour the internet if there is no info on Racing Post results…. Thanks
January 8, 2012 at 13:37 #386051I also tried to find that, BHA told me Wetherby’s tracks those records but they don’t have it on PDF or anything like IRE but somebody will look into it they told me.

Thanks Yoshi – please let us know on here if you do hear anything back from Wetherbys … it would be really helpful
January 9, 2012 at 13:22 #386159AnimalAid try to keep track in their Racehorse Deathwatch section, but I know their lists are not complete. It’s worth checking the site from time to time though.
HRI Lists are not always complete either, there have been a few deaths mentioned here that they have never reported.
January 9, 2012 at 18:43 #386191But HRI is only for Ireland right?
January 9, 2012 at 20:34 #386202Yes – HRI Horse Racing Ireland. In UK there doesn’t seem to be anywhere "official" – the animal aid isn’t always upto date and usually takes time to get on there. Sometimes http://www.attheraces.com includes fatal injury in their analysis. Some racecourses will reply to an email enquiring after a horse’s welfare – I usually try the trainer if I can find an email address.

February 4, 2012 at 07:28 #389730Well, the HRI aren’t known for their accuracy, Yoshi. At least they did pick it up eventually. I’ve seen/reported some on the site here that they’ve never had on their lists, even weeks later.
