good point by Colin, get a one day oyster travelcard or the like, as in his quest to completely bugger up public transport and everything else in london, newt-loving friend-public-money-grant-bunging red ken has the tube fare currently at £4 for a single stop which is no fun when you consider the walking you have to do in and out of the stations – comes to something when it is cheaper for 2 people to get a cab from whitehall to bloomsbury for lunch and if there’s 4 of you the cost of the first round is almost saved
oh, and congratulations for speaking to the tfl helpdesk – while you were, 999 others weren’t

I agree, I got one last year, was amazed you can use them on buses not just the tube, and you don’t even have to take them out of your wallet, it reads through the wallet, and tells you your current credit, amazing!

December 23, 2007 at 10:05 #131631another tip is maybe miss the last race to avoid the mass charge for the buses. that whats i do with the excellent park and ride.
December 27, 2007 at 00:05 #132009The transport was great, a bus was waiting at Richmond as soon as I got off the tube, and we got on a bus straight away after the last race and the traffic wasn’t bad, a great service so well done to the organizers.
