Sunak appoints Gavin Williamson into the cabinet and admits he
knew at the time that there was a complaint against Sir Gavin,
but states he had not seen the messages that the complaint was
about. What idiot, well Rishi for one, would place someone in the cabinet
without first finding out what the complaint was about. Nobody, but
nobody, is not going to be aware that a foul mouthed rant was sent
by emal to the ex-whip Wendy Morgan. It’s not the fact of the email itself, well it is as well, it’s the
fact that the PM lied (allegedly) about knowing about the contents
and we’re all supposed to go, oh that explains that then.Take your pick, lied or completely incompetent….or both
November 6, 2022 at 18:20 #1622044Tbh, of all the things this government has got wrong, one Tory swearing at another Tory is pretty low on my radar.
The way it’s being handled is more contemptible than the act itself, though.
I agree there.

It's the "Millwall FC" of Point broadcasts: "No One Likes Us - We Don't Care"November 6, 2022 at 18:35 #1622047I suppose that was what got under my skin Ian. Not so much the foul mouthed rant,
it’s the idea that he would appoint Williamson to the cabinet, and then deny that
he was aware of the contents of the email. Why not just say, it was inappropriate
and it has now been settled….end of story. To come out and say he did not know
what the complaint was about, being aware of a complaint, does the opposite of his
cunning Baldrick plan of deniable plausibility, as it’s completely implausible.November 6, 2022 at 19:35 #1622055The Cabinet remind me of football managers that get fired with a huge pay off and then move straight into another managerial post where the same thing happens again. The exception being that football managers don’t **** up peoples lives. Look at the school children whose exams Williamson messed up. One of the many things he’s messed up. He’s so bad that even Johnson sacked him!
November 7, 2022 at 15:09 #1622138Being sacked by Johnson, extraordinary….. they normally jumped ship.
I feel bad for the kids too Moe.
November 8, 2022 at 11:49 #1622238Gavin Williamson or Malcolm Tucker…..they’re all comin out the woodwork now.
I mean, a chief whip, as he was, keeping a tarantula on his desc, what does
that say about the man…..he’s an admirer of David Attenborough ? (or Severus Snape
)November 8, 2022 at 21:01 #1622304Williamson has resigned.

November 9, 2022 at 05:27 #1622341I’m a Labour voter, but I don’t look for every stick to beat the Tories with.
One egocentric politician verbally abuses another no-doubt egocentric politician.
Couldn’t care less tbh.

November 10, 2022 at 05:36 #1622419Well, this is it, HDLG.
Tbh, nothing REAL has happened the last few weeks.
Neither Suella Braverman nor Gavin Williamson have impacted negatively on my life personally in that time frame.
Yet Sunak’s decision to have them in his Cabinet is proving a self-inflicted wound.
He’s a relatively-young ex-Public school city boy getting progressively more exposed every week for the superficial, shallow, individual he undoubtedly is.
Not as stupid as Truss, not as suspect as Johnson, but ineffectual nonetheless.
His trump card will be an austerity budget the figures of which will no doubt add up well enough.
I can’t see that reviving his Party’s fortunes as a winter of severe industrial unrest looms.
