ATR’s coverage is all "live" from the track (-5mins), horses parading, going to post, "live" interviews and presentations but the only "live" coverage on RUK is the actual race.
No surprise they made it free to air but wonder why they bothered at all.
Also at the bottom of the screen on RUK it says "Racing feed delayed 5 minutes for betting purposes"
What are these betting purposes?
sounds like you’d have been better off with the HKJC’s near-live TV webcast here:

as to which "betting purposes" are served by the delay, certainly HKJC imposes variable delays on its internet radio and TV webcasts as part of its battle against those running betting business on its races without its authority.
but those are more the order of 30 – 60 seconds than 5 minutes.
