So I was looking into the cards for the weekend and Ryan Moore is riding the Kentucky derby at 11.50PM at night UK time and next day at 1.50PM in the afternoon he is riding in Newmarket. How is this possible?

Flying in commercial airline wont be a possibility because there are no direct flights from Louisville to London. There is at-least few hours stop overs in either Washington or Chicago. Then 9 hours flight to London with additional 30 mins airport formalities. Then couple of hours drive from London to Newmarket.

Do they take private jets and board it straight from the race course and land next day in Newmarket? That is a taxing schedule if you ask me.

A billionaire owner with horses worth hundreds of millions should offer his stable jockey proper travel arrangements. Ryan Moore should be well rested when taking the leg up in Kentucky as well as in Newmarket.

If concorde was still in operation he would have been able to ride the 2,000 as well. It beggars belief how Phil Collins could play both Live Aid venues over 30 years ago but nowadays it could well have been impossible

Incredible how human mankind talks about flying/traveling to Mars, but no super sonic commercial jet on the horizon yet.

charter a heavy jet like the Global 5000:
    Max range (NM): 5030
    Seating Configuration: 9–16
    Cruising Speed (KTS): 484

Louisville Standiford Field (SDF) to London Stansted (STN) is about 4000 miles, so just over 8 hours flight time.

Average hourly charter rate, including fuel, around USD 9000.

Say USD 72,000 divided by 12 passengers = USD 6000 per head. Not that pricey compared to first / business class on scheduled.

and far less tight for Ryan than the fly-in/ fly-out he does to places like Hong Kong, where he has to use scheduled flights.
