THE FESTIVAL. STARTS. TOMORROW!!!!! (Just incase you didn’t know).
My excitement has led me to wander around singing to the tune of ‘tomorrow’ from Annie…. "TOMORROW, TOMORROW, IT’S CHELTENHAM TOMORROW, IT’S ONLY A DAY AWAY".
I doubt i’ll be able to even sleep tonight.
March 10, 2008 at 16:27 #149508hi zome,
nice to see you around these parts again – it’s been some time.
I daren’t ask what you’ve been up to – but I would like to know

CACARAC CACARACMarch 10, 2008 at 18:17 #149525I’m certainly looking forward to it – in my view the best four days racing of the year.
My favourite meetings in order of preference and purely in terms of the racing quality
1 Cheltenham Festival
2 Punchestown Festival
3 Aintree Festival
4 Glorious Goodwood
5 Royal Ascot
6 Arc meeting
7 Derby meetingIf asked to do a list list in terms of atmosphere and enjoyment the list becomes.
1 Punchestown
=2 Anything at Cartmel
=2 Anything at Fontwell
4 Derby Day on The Hill
5 Glorious Goodwood
6 Arc Meeting
7 CheltenhamMarch 10, 2008 at 18:54 #149536I love Cheltenham more than Strawberry Trifle and I’m looking forward to it so much – but as I’ve said on the main Cheltenham forum, I’m a bit deflated about the quality on show tomorrow (Champion Hurdle aside of course).
I’m sure that by tomorrow I will be all Jiggy and up for the gig (does that sound like Mat Chapman
) but I certainly won’t be losing any sleep as I normally do tonight.Mike
March 10, 2008 at 19:05 #149538Particularly after a dozen cans of Grolsch Mike
March 10, 2008 at 19:50 #149554I normally get the week off work, but I haven’t been able to this year which is a pain in the you know what
I’m still excited though! It’s the whole atmosphere and palava that surrounds it, not just the quality of the runners.March 10, 2008 at 20:01 #149557Can’t wait!!!!!! Got to work but i’ve got friday afternoon off so thank the lord for small mercies!!! I can watch the Gold Cup live!! Yeay!!
March 10, 2008 at 20:37 #149566When I used to work in the "real world" and I couldn’t get the time off work I would take up "smoking" for three days a year.
During these smoking periods I would only "smoke" in the afternoon, but would have a fag break every 35 mins.
I would go down to the car where I had a little portable television and watch the racing with the BBC radio commentary.

heheheheheheheheh, Paul. Like it.

I’ve had a chicory for tomoz; who wrote this little beauty – the gambler’s epitaph?
“The keenest sorrow is to recognize ourselves as the sole cause of all our adversities”.
Best of luck everyone.
March 10, 2008 at 23:07 #149631hi zome,

Haha…. you REALLY don’t i promise you!
March 11, 2008 at 00:43 #149656I’m quite excited- but not as much as gillyoverthehilly
March 11, 2008 at 05:50 #149667Less of the overthehilly!

I vaguely remember last year Racing UK did free to view replays in the evening, which would be awesome for us poor sods that have got to work. I’ve checked the website and it doesn’t say anything about it. Does anyone know if they’re doing it this year? And if so, what time?

I practised similar deviant behaviour
to you Paul when I was in the unreal world.
You gave me a good belly
laugh because your behaviour was more extreme,
however I went far enough,
using a decoy clip board and creating a pretend job.
It is your sort of bare bottomed ingeniousness that enabled
Jilly troops to break back into Colditz
with a high kick and an allo allo
and demand tea and biscuits
March 11, 2008 at 08:11 #149681I’m very excited, its another day closer to the start of the proper flat racing.
March 11, 2008 at 08:18 #149683I have thrown a tomato
at you and your neighbour dave
how I remember
and cherry the ‘ol tale
