    Hello,

    There used to be a free shuttle bus to and from Longchamp. It went from d’Auteil steeple chase course that can be easily reached by the metro.
    The shuttle bus picked you up outside the gates. To go back, simply miss the last race to ensure you catch it.

    Years ago you could pay on the door at Longchamp even on Arc day. You can get a two day ticket that covers the Saturday and Arc Day. The cost is reasonable, completely different from rip off UK courses.

    Walking through the Bois de Boulougne to Longchamp is an option, it is parkland. Can be very dangerous at night, don’t be surprised to be set upon by Brazilian transvestites!! :shock:
    Knowing the contributors on this forum, they will be arranging walk abouts as I type.. :?

    Seriously, I would forget walking back..

    regards,

    Hello,

    Oh! hotels, I always grabbed a late city break, quite cheap.

    My favourite place was the Pigalle…. :?

    But you can stay at any hotel really, the Metro is absolutely superb, and d’Auteil is on a Metro line to collect the shuttle.

    John,

    There’s been a few similarly based questions.

    Check this link out;

    Basically, it’s easy to get to the track just don’t leave it too close to race time.

    You could always do what we did on our first vist – get merry, buy the R.P check the race time of the first race and then forget you’re on European time, hence getting to the track about two hours before the first race :oops:
