Did this horse lose the race at the start
It must have lost 2-3 lengths which is more tham what it got beat by.
I know it is a hold up horse but to me it was given a poor ride because of the ground it lost at the start which cost it the race.
However when you back a horse with Spencer on then I suppose that is the chance you take.

No!
Both his previous c/d wins were on g/s ground. The ground was just too fast for him to pull them back today, (even though I put him up as the probable winner

Begs the question, how the hell are you supposed to hold a horse up without giving ground at the start.
Oh, and Jamie Spencer has a winning percentage of 17% this season, a percentage bettered by only a few jockeys. Saying he’s a poor jockey because he favours the ‘hold up method’ is a bit like saying Geoff Boycott was a poor batsman because he didn’t get all his runs in boundaries…….
