Just announced that she has passed away.
RIPMarch 24, 2024 at 12:28 #1688184What a great shame that is. Went from handicapper to a Group 1 star.
The more I know the less I understand.
March 24, 2024 at 13:18 #1688187March 2022 – 5 years old, 3rd start of the season, finishes 2nd in a 5f conditions race at Wolverhampton
August/Sept 2022 – Thrashes the opposition in two group 1 5f sprints at York and The Curragh. It makes you wonder what potential we haven’t seen from many down the years but you just have to admire it when it does happen. Super mare.
March 24, 2024 at 13:30 #1688189How awfully sad. We all hoped she could be saved.
Well said Chivers.
March 24, 2024 at 13:40 #1688190Very sad news and a great loss for everyone involved. Really shocked by the news, tbh.
May she rest in peace
March 24, 2024 at 14:37 #1688193Heartbreaking news.
What a super mare she was, with an amazing temperament to go with her talent.
Absolutely devastating for her connections.

March 24, 2024 at 19:15 #1688205Three Group 1s in the space of just over a month is some record, dream of a horse.
The more I know the less I understand.
March 24, 2024 at 22:28 #1688214Just read this devastating news a real horse of a lifetime loved and admired by all. She gave everything but sadly lost her greatest battle. We will miss her so much.
RIP beautiful Princess 💔Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...March 26, 2024 at 15:12 #1688342I hope those that are anti racing realise that it’s not just jumping fences
that can lead to tragedies. It can happen when a horse is in it’s stall
(as Highfield Princess was) or just running around in their paddock. Each
is as tragic as the other and everyone deeply feels the hurt, it’s like
losing one of the family. These horses are cherished and loved but still
tragedies can happen. I’m so sorry for all the connections and stable staff
that she is no longer with us, she was a fairytale rising through the ranks
to Group 1 wins. It’s horses like her that raise your enthusiasm for the
sport, and it hurts when we lose her. She was amazing and I, and all of us,
will greatly miss her.March 28, 2024 at 21:18 #1688538The anti racing people will tell you that it’s still the fault of humans imprisoning horses in ‘cages’ for 23hrs a day. Unfortunately they don’t realise that there is no such thing as some utopia where all the ickle horsies frolic happily in sunny meadows all day.
I suspect they have never seen a wild horse slowly starving to death because its shattered leg or shoulder leaves it barely able to walk, unable to find enough food, and unable to flee predators.
March 29, 2024 at 13:16 #1688562The Princess’s half brother runs today. Highfield Viking in the 1600 at Chelmsford. Has a fair chance and would be a poignant victory for sure. Had to put some money down of course.
