I’ve nothing against Aidan O’Brien, who seemed a really nice, impeccably polite, modest bloke the one and only time I ever met him.

But I’ve never liked “than you think” stuff because I just think it’s presumptuous and makes assumptions.

Everyone thinks differently anyway.

City Of Troy doesn’t look the biggest, but he doesn’t look the smallest either.

The 2,000 Guineas is often referred to as “the last 2yo race of the previous season” and I still think he will be hard to beat there.

But after that and beyond a mile?

I’m really not sure – the usual line is “there is no reason to suppose….” a horse won’t: train on, stay further, act on a new surface, be able to cook a better continental cheese omelette than resident forum misery guts Gladders.

Well, the reason is that every year numerous horses fail to do one or more of these things, especially the latter.
