In today’s Horse And Hound there is an advert detailing a dispersal sale, instructed by the above.
400 lots incuding tack, racing kit, hurdles, schooling fences and mucking out tools.

That’s great! Good luck to her
September 13, 2007 at 14:07 #114756That hopefully bodes well for Bally Conn’s future then?
September 13, 2007 at 15:43 #114767I didn’t read into this that Hen and Terry are giving up training and vacating the premises, I must say. After all, there’s no mention of them getting rid of their most important training aids – rabbits’ feet, four-leafed clovers, black cats or other items of superstition and mummery.

September 13, 2007 at 21:35 #114843I certainly hope so, GD!! He wants fences, been crying out for them.
Honestly, there’s nothing more sinister in it than that – they feel they’d rather concentrate their efforts on fewer horses, with the emphasis on quality rather than quantity. It won’t make a big difference in all seriousness as they’re not cutting back drastically.

HENRIETTA Knight is about sell off more than 400 lots of racing equipment ranging from schooling fences and brush hurdles to shaving forks and snaffle bits, but stressed on Saturday that the auction should not be interpreted that she is aboutto end her 18-year career as a trainer.
The trainer forever linked with triple Gold Cup winner Best Mate has a penchant for acquiring racing accessories – her husband Terry Biddlecome says she is an irresistible shopper for such items – and as a result West Lockinge Farm at Wantage has a surplus.
The three-time Cheltenham Gold Cup-winning trainer said: “This will be the third auction I’ve had here, and they seem to come around about every four years or so.
“I’m always getting new equipment – Terry reckons I’m a compulsive buyer – and as we’ve rather too much here at the moment, another auction seemed sensible.â€

Magic.
I look forward to both her chasers making an appearance next May (provided the ground is suitable).
September 18, 2007 at 16:51 #115485May???!!!! Oh come on, that is an exaggeration – besides, they’ll be out in the field by then as the ground will be too firm!

Mock if you must Grassy – wait until you see the mighty Bally Conn over fences!
