I was tempted to take the 4/5 available about Denman but the indications are that he’ll go for the Aon Chase instead!

Joncol has a major chance if he is ridden with more restraint than when getting chinned in the Lexus. Still just a slight worry about the trip though. Positive noises are coming out of the Cooldine camp, and he would rate a biug danger if coming back to the best of his form.

He has a few other entries this week at Down Royal and Clonmel. Willie will probably run him in one of those if Cooldine is motoring well at home.

Surprised at the lack of English raiders given how moderate our staying chasers look at the moment. Cooldine is supposedly going well down at Closutton after blowing out in the Lexus. If he’s back to his Cheltenham form of last year it could be a right set to between himself and Joncol.

With plenty of rain due for the rest of the week and a wet day forecast for Sunday Notre Pere looks a big price.

Personally i cant go against Money Trix , when he ran in Lexus Chase. How unlucky was he to lose by 1/2 length he was flying at end and if repeating this performance has to be in mix :)

Cooldine didn’t do enough for me last time & will probably go off too short.

I think I’ll be with Joncol; he still looked a bit weak in the Lexus but he’s a proper horse and hopefully Squeaky will hold on to him for a bit longer.

I’m struggling to work out quite why

    Money Trix

is double the price of Joncol, especially with the ground seemingly softening by the second.

It’s fair to say that he (Joncol) probably hit the front too soon in the Lexus, but it’s not the first time he’s appeared to fail to stay over the trip and with the ground as it is he’s going to be vulnerable however he’s ridden.

Cooldine doesn’t appeal at what is a ridiculous price – even if he’d run well last time, he’s a much better horse on good ground – and Notre Pere has yet to prove himself since his fall, which just leaves Money Trix. He’s lightly raced, will stay every inch of the trip, is bang in form and has always been thought capable of mixing it in top class company. Dave Duggan’s assertion that he’s 4-5lb short of this level is, in my opinion, absurd.

I think you can forget Cooldine winning this as Willie Mullins has sent out the message already.

Joncol and Money Trix both travel really well in their races and for me the latter probably has the better finsish.

Nicky Richards is very confident and can’t understand why his isn’t favourite. Quite simply his price is being held up by large sums going around for Notre pere 7/1 was available but the magic sign now stand alone at 11/2

I have been told in no uncertain manner to expect a big performance from Notre Pere and forget his last run.

I’ve had a couple of bets on him but fancy Money Trix so no get rich quick bets for me in this one. Crossing my fingers and hoping the bookies are out to get Binny tomorrow……..save the big bucks for him and buy some money…..hell might even have the kitchen sink on if he is 1/2 or better.

Well I ended up having a few quid on the forecast at 1.7 and 1.6 albeit for only a few hundred quid so I whacked the lot on to Notre Pere. Just remember if you follow suit and he gets beat it was all Reet’s idea

The ground, seven runner field and more deliberation makes me reverse my earlier opinion and I’ll leave Joncol and the race well alone
