Does anyone know how to import/download a racecard from the RP website into Excel
I used to just copy & paste but can no longer do this because the info is unusable once pasted because of the layout of the cards now
Is there some fancy button on Excel which will do it for me
All help greatly appreciated
February 20, 2009 at 02:58 #211263I used to import the cards into excel by going to the Data menu, selecting Import External Data, New Web Query then entering in the web page and importing the card. For some reason this doesn’t work with the RP any more so I import cards from the Sporting Life website instead. Another triumph for the new RP website.

Spot-on. Same here !
Have you tried a cut and paste from RP into Notepad. Then a cut and paste from Notepad into Excel ?
Notepad cuts out a whole load of Sh1t.
Backing two runners is the relentless pursuit of value. Backing each way is a shortcut to the poor house. Only 7% make a long term profit.

February 20, 2009 at 14:29 #211302The notepad thingy doesn’t work for me but the Sporting Life option works fine – they just don’t have as much info on the cards at the moment for Cheltenham
Thanks anyway

It depends what detail you want, but the Betfair race cards copy reasonably well into Excel. Loading them into Notepad then to Excel neatens them up.

February 22, 2009 at 02:01 #211653Can’t manipulate the RP card data anymore as there is some funny script behind it; don’t bother persevering. Sporting Life, ATR or Timeform cards are simpler and will work.
