    Dr Richard Newland sadly lost Heez A Wonder this afternoon. The 9yp Naheez gelding broke a leg two-thirds of the way into a Ludlow selling hurdle and had to be euthenised.

    Heez A Wonder had won three of his 21 Rules starts prior to today, all of them for Fran Flood – a Clonmel bumper, a Naas hurdle and a Leopardstown opportunity chase at up to 2m5f. This was just his second run for Dr Newland.

    Rest easy, old boy.

    A sad incident as he appeared to be travelling well within himself and enjoying his racing, while leading 2 out before breaking his leg.

    Thankfully, both Dasher Reilly & Nayadabayo who were Brought Down in the incident and all three jocks appeared to be OK afterwards.

    RIP Big Fella.
