Announced her retirement with immediate effect.
Good luck to her
April 5, 2025 at 13:47 #1726185Always liked Hayley. A better jockey than Hollie Doyle imo.
April 5, 2025 at 18:26 #1726334Apparently the pregnancy was in the planning for two years, looking for a suitable sire no doubt.
But as GM23 says, better than Hollie, my thoughts also.April 5, 2025 at 18:59 #1726344Congratulations to Hayley!
Wishing her and family all the best for the future. Also think she was better than Hollie, and encouraged more female jockeys into the sport.April 5, 2025 at 21:44 #1726390It pisses me off when people try to praise a woman by comparing another woman to her negatively…just gives me the vibes of the pathetic manufactured “Duchess of Pork outshone by dazzling Diana” “Kate will be furious as Meghan snubs her tiara” type thing.
Or as Taylor Swift once sang
“And we see you over there on the internet/
Comparing all the girls who are killing it”So…I hope Hayley has a happy retirement, I enjoyed watching her successes, I wish her luck with the pregnancy and baby. I think she was a good jockey…full stop.
April 5, 2025 at 21:59 #1726393She was talented but Hollie looks likely to achieve more
Pick 3 on Saturday champion 2025/2026
April 5, 2025 at 22:00 #1726395My thoughts also greenasgrass, good luck to hayley and may hollie continue her good work for many years to come!

April 5, 2025 at 22:05 #1726396They are jockeys to me I don’t care about their gender and it is time the sport stopped defining them.
The more I know the less I understand.
April 5, 2025 at 22:19 #1726398True RTB but there is no getting away from the fact that Hayley Turner was the first woman jockey in Britain to:
Win a Group 1 race outright
Ride 100 winners in a season
Ride 1,000 career winners. She was also only the second woman to ride a winner at Royal Ascot, a long time after the first.
Given all those firsts and how she smashed through a glass ceiling, her gender is highly relevant. Maybe by achieving what she did it will be less so in future.
Hayley was a very good jockey but unfortunately she had some bad luck with injuries. She had a very heavy fall at Doncaster and admitted it affected her confidence afterwards.
It was a pity she didn’t have many opportunities at the top level in recent seasons but she had a fine career and has been a great asset for British racing.
April 5, 2025 at 22:43 #1726410Very best wishes to her, she certainly made her mark in a sport where, whatever they say, her gender placed at a significant disadvantage in terms of opportunity.
April 7, 2025 at 09:58 #1726557Agree 100 % with Cork All Star.
Her gender is highly relevant , and she has certainly paved the way for others.
She has been a fine jockey , and in my opinion would be a major asset as a broadcaster , as she always speaks knowledgeably and wisely.
I wish her every success for a happy future.
Oh , and she was certainly a better jockey than Hollie Doyle , in my opinion !.April 7, 2025 at 14:28 #1726575Everyone loves Hayley don’t they?
How will the Shergar Cup manage without Hayley riding in it?
April 7, 2025 at 17:12 #1726582You can’t be saying Shergar Cup in April.
The more I know the less I understand.
April 7, 2025 at 18:58 #1726590“How will the Shergar Cup manage without Hayley riding in it?”
We will need to bring Captain Robbo in from the cold to generate some excitement for it.
April 7, 2025 at 19:29 #1726591@greenasgrass you’re spot on.
Let’s celebrate Hayley’s achievements against gender stereotypes / prejudice. Without knocking another FEMALE jockey down.
They’re all jockeys. End of.
April 12, 2025 at 14:06 #1727052Hollie proving again that given the ammunition she can hit the target , I respect Hayley but Hollie is going to achieve so much more
Pick 3 on Saturday champion 2025/2026
