    Hi,
    I’m new to this forum.
Nobody in the racing media ever mentions it.
Not RUK not the Post, not anybody.
One of the great jumps racecourses of the UK has been
    dismantled by the racecourse executive.
The drop fences were a great test and worthy of a Grade One
racecourse. Now we have no dedicated chase course and portable
fences that are soft and teach horses bad jumping habits.
All so the Haydock executive can have more Friday night flat
meetings featuring nondescript races in the hope of making more
    money.
A long and great heritage of jump racing at the track has been disregarded and nobody says anything.
Am I mad or is this a sad indictment of the people running racing today and a great loss to the sport  ?

Oh, we’ve mentioned it plenty on here, Bahram, trust us!

The fact that Kirkland Tellwright ended up on the shortlist for "Villains of 2007" in the TRF end of year polls (and not just for crimes against watering / estimable going predictions), probably tells you plenty about what the general view on here was about the modifications to the course.

Oh yes, and welcome to our little world btw!

    To right.

As a Haydock Park member i can easily tell you that everyone who i spoke to was annoyed and pissed off at this stupid descission just so they could have crowds of alchies in on the Friday nights which now means that a lot of members dont actually go on a Friday evening meeting because of it and a few people didnt even renew their badges.

I was at Yesterdays meeting and i was amazed at the Water Jump not being used as they could have easily moved the rail out to accomodate it and also maybe add one more fence down the back straight.

I cannot believe they still employ Berkland Tellwrong as he has totally destroyed Haydocks character, Sure the Friday crowds to spend a lot of money but those of us battle hard people who turn up in the depths of winter when it is Brass Monkey time are being shafted so a load of Mancs and Scousers can get rat arsed.

And to cap it all next years Sprint Cup will be run on the new course so if you want to see Group 1 horses then they will be even further away from you to see, Pathetic.
