I walked from the train station when I went there last year (don’t think the bus service is available at midweek meets).
Think it took about 3/4 of a hr but can’t remember off hand.
Enjoy and expect to hear loud screams from down here when Material World dots up in the Rendlesham.
February 17, 2007 at 11:46 #29137Wouldn’t fancy walking it from Newton station myself.
The buses are a new Merseytravel "Haydock Express" service Maurice, and are heavily subsidised – if Bath and Cheltenham’s services are anything to go by.
There used to be a regular Arriva service between Newton and Ashton but think that’s stopped now :(
February 18, 2007 at 18:41 #29138Rumour was that the shuttle bus was being axed after yesterday’s fixture. I am mystified by this as it appeared to be doing good trade yesterday… :(
February 18, 2007 at 19:23 #29139Well thanks all i had a very enjoyable day in glorious sunshine – it was like summer !
The aforementioned shuttle bus left just outside Newton station and took only about 10 mins to the track – more importantly it was efficietly waitig to take us back afterwards. I did ideed hear rumours from travellers sayig it was beig stopped after today but when the drivers were asked they seemed unable to help.
I went in members as suggested and was probably the right choice though £27 seems a bit pricy considering its always only £20 at many good Cheltenham meetings throughout the year

It cost £ 27 to go into the Members’ enclosure on a Friday
evening last summer . Friday evening counts as the
weekend to Haydock Park . I thought the weekend
was Saturday and Sunday !
It was a competitive six race card but included a claimer
and the total win prize money was just over £ 20,000.
The top price for the Members’ at other northern
courses seems to be £ 18 , even on a Saturday , and in
the case of Ripon that includes a free racecard .
Chester is also generally overpriced . You pay for the
setting there but in its defence there are fewer
meetings to support the cost of running the course .
