    Outlaw Tom runs in the 12.20 at Haydock, a 3 mile Conditional Jockeys’ Handicap Hurdle. There are a shortage of suitable chases in the coming weeks so the hurdling option is selected.

    After a disappointing effort at Hexham last time it’s a case of run and see what we’ve got. Conditions will suit down to the ground with going bordering on heavy.

    Went well enough for two miles, running prominently in the first time visor, but was spent by the final bend and was eased in finishing tailed off last.

    Not encouraging.

    Feedback from Paul Brierley is that Grant Cockburn thought Tom travelled better this time and got outpaced on what is a sharpish inner track at Haydock. It’s suggested that Ayr will suit better.
