If in the same form that allowed him to run Oscar Whiskey to a neck he’d have a great chance to get back on the winning trail..

I think hurricane fly is out of this due to mullins not happy with his recent work out.
Shame , not sure where he will head now . Makes any anti post an even bigger gamble really .November 18, 2011 at 13:39 #378365Leopardstown at Christmas?? Fairyhouse was never on the agenda this year anyway.
Just one race less than last season for him. No major problem. Contenders to his throne are thin on the ground as the fields for the Morgiana and Hattons Grace prove.
November 19, 2011 at 19:10 #378680Shame Solwhit is injured as he deserves to pick up another Grade 1 in HF’s absence.
Would Mourad be a possibility here?
Value Is EverythingNovember 20, 2011 at 03:55 #378755Highly unlikely Ginger he’s been running out of his skin over 3 miles which clearly suits him best. I’d imagine if he does run it will be in prep for something else.
I can see no real reason why WM won’t run Thousand Stars in this. If he wins today he’d be slashed in price if there was any betting to slash, the swines!!!!
Interesting Michael D’Hagenuet is back hurdling. If that was nothing more than a pipe openeer the other day he’d have to be on the short list but he’s been so frustrating he may just have lost his old buzz completely. Would need a touch of Doctor Paul Nichols’s magic medicine to bring him back to win this.
November 20, 2011 at 11:42 #378807There’s more chance of Michael D winnning a grade 1 than Mikael D. He’s a pale shadow of the horse he was. Those who were backing him at Navan last weekend against Murphy’s mare need their heads examined.
November 28, 2011 at 23:00 #380109Firstly to the Drinmore chase, where a first glance at the entries tells me Michael O Leary might need to borrow a few hats from his air-hosts to ensure he has enough for this race! something tells me there will be more than the regular maroon and second string (white) cap needed on Sunday!
With 8 of the 16 entries carrying his colours and by my judgement 5 who would have serious chances if going forward, I would be rushing into Paddy Power in the morning to see can I get 1/4on, on the winner being a Gigginstown inmate!!
Getting back to more serious possible punts for the weekend, and it is hard to look past Thousand Stars for the Hattons Grace… if declared! This horse has to be one of the most likeable hurdlers around as he has progressed rapidly over the past few seasons from being a run of the mill handicapper to a Grade 1 rated horse.
No disrespect to Katie Walsh (who is a fine jockey in her own right) but my feeling was that Thousand stars may have won the Aintree hurdle if Ruby or PT were on board!
Given the horses tremendous performance in the Morgiana two weeks ago and the extra 4F being of benefit, any odds smelling close to even money should be snapped up!
Its obvious enough many entries are unlikely to run, such as Hurricane Fly and Zaidpour but of those who are likely to run, there will be a top field (Expect Oscars well, The Real Article, Volar la Vedette to run) and although Oscars well will be suited to a step up to 2m4f (a beautiful traveller), my money would be on the consistent mare of Colm Murphy’s as forecast material.
Any thoughts please?November 30, 2011 at 10:08 #380290(1:50) 312D Bar One Racing Hatton’s Grace H’dle

December 2, 2011 at 12:22 #380629Townend on Final Approach, Walsh on Mourad, Geraghty on The Real Article.
No jockey declared for MD. Likely to run tomorrow instead.
December 2, 2011 at 22:33 #380708Mourad seems to need every bit of 3 miles.
The Real Article has won a NH flat race over this trip. It has to be said it was a poor event on fast ground. Not a race that would make me confident he’ll get 2m4f over hurdles as his only previous attempt ended in failure..
Mikael D’haguenet would win this doing handstands on his old form but he looks a mere shadow of his old self.
Has to be Voler La Vedette at this trip.

I believe the Real Article will actually improve for the step up in trip, and as he doesn’t have much to find anyway, ought to prove too good for these.
December 4, 2011 at 15:00 #381002First we had Sizing Europe the only 2 miler with a realistic chance in the race now Voler La Vedette the only 2m4f horse in the race.
To be honest I thought for a minute you had read that right Reet. Real Article was running away turning for home and had me worried but failed to get home.
