A training masterclass from Mullins to get Lossiemouth recovered from a sore foot and prepared to take on Teahupoo all in just one week.

With how corrupt the sport has become due to the power of the online bookie, It should be law that all bets are nrnb including antepost.
Bookmakers can shorten the odds antepost if they want but it should always be nrnb.

Whole thing has become a crime ring. We’re seeing this all too often now and nobody in the sport seems to have the balls or integrity to speak up.

Regards the race itself today. I’d say the weather has gone against Teahupoo and Lossiemouth looks the most likely winner if the rain stays away.

Not sure this is the place for this discussion + i haven’t searched to see whether it was put anywhere else, but it didn’t take Einstein to work out she was a fair chance of being pulled out.

Not saying the other stuff you have said is incorrect or anything :good:

Special mare – surprised they went that slow early on as that played into her hands by making it more of a speed test than a stamina test.

    Rightful Champion Hurdle favourite

She was very good there considering she was quite keen for the first half. Her task was made a bit easier when Maxxum who presumably was meant to trap her in fluffed it and left a gap for her.

She’s an aeroplane and should’ve been in the CH last March.
Should’ve been in the Morgiana last week also.

I hope Ricci insists on her going for the Champion Hurdle. She deserves to take her chance. It will not be good for the game if she goes down the Mares route again.

She could win the champion off level weights , getting weight makes it ludicrous , she made Tea look lukewarm….. I’ll get my coat

Willie just confirming she won’t be taking on State Man at Christmas either.
He’s just confirmed himself that there never was no bruised foot last week with that statement.

Lossiemouth will surely be sent for the Mickey Mouse affair at Cheltenham in January rather than the Grade 1 at Christmas.
Rich Ricci needs to take a leaf out of McManus book and take charge of his own horses. He’s the man paying the bills.

When you get a great mare like that or say an Annie Power or Honeysuckle etc the allowance is a massive thing to be having to conceed to them and seems rather unfair.

For the average or lesser mare it makes more sense and is understandable that it was brought in to help but when you are dealing with a top mare like this, then maybe they need to look at making it a smaller allowance (3 or 4lbs?) in say the G1 races only.

Very impressive. You would love to see her at Kempton like Faugheen, but those things don’t happen anymore at Christmas.

I think a bit like yesterday with Gino people are getting carried away because she’s beat Teahupoo but look where Beacons Edge is still pretty much on the bridle at the last and hes a 3m handicapper. They’ve gone a crawl and the 2/2.5 miler beat the stayers. That error she made 4 out, if she does that in a Champion Hurdle she doesn’t even place because they will be gone

Beating a stayer like Teahupoo easily over 2m4f is hardly worthy of getting worked up about. They went relatively slow, and the horse with speed beats the dour stayer…….

The reaction is, as usual OTT.

However, I think she’s a class mare, and may well have a say in March.

I don’t believe Lossiemouth’s “mistake” was anywhere near as significant as the RTV pundits suggested. She made a slightly awkward jump but it didn’t look like she hit the hurdle much.

I don’t think anyone is getting carried away about the performance. All people are saying is she is clearly a high class mare and deserves to take her chance in the Champion Hurdle.

It will be far better for the game if she does. If connections send her to the Mares Hurdle again, it will be a poor look for the sport. The best races should have the best horses.

Who outside of the Mullins circle wants to see her stroll to victory in another non-event procession, 40 minutes after the main event?

She was impressive, but no more so than Sir Gino. Take a look at who was 3rd in each race.
Lossiemouth- 144 rated Beacon Edge beaten 10l -receiving 7lb
Sir Gino- 136 rated Kihavah beaten 12.5l at levels

Literal interpretation makes Lossiemouth rating 147 and Sir Gino 148.5 . Both have bags of scope for improvement, but they are still well short of what Constitution Hill and State Man have achieved so far. What the last 2 Champions do at XMas will tell us exactly where we are.

Of all of them id be on Sir Gino at this stage of he stays hurdling , looks bags of upside . He beat Salvatore Mundi in France , owner brought them both . SM was big talking horse last year but must have got behind in prep for Cheltenham . Hes come out few months ago and won 62 lengths so is clearly very good so talk werent well off the mark . Looking forward to seeing SM run again as last time i looked he was favorite for Supreme Novices .
So much owner , trainer crossover it depends on who wants to do what though .

Regards nobody getting carried away…Racing Post lead with Hattons Grace demolition job. Lol. Context is key. That wasn’t the Stayers Hurdle winning version of Teahupoo, it was a long way off it. Take him out and she’s beating Maxxuum and Beacons Edge and nobody cares.

In my eyes it was impressive than Sir Gino , he pulled hard , just think she’s a very professional horse and there’s that s weight allowance …
