I have been waiting for a horse from John Gosden’s stable called Munjaz to make his debut and wondered if anyone has heard any vibes about him?
He is by Sea The Stars and was entered in a couple of maidens a few weeks ago but didn’t run. He is entered in maidens at Newbury and Newmarket around the end of this week and hopefully we’ll see him take part this time. He holds entries for what was called The Washington Singer, The Royal Lodge and next years Derby. The stable has had some promising winning debutants already, including the much vaunted Kingman. Has this fellow being seen catching any pigeons on the gallops and can he give Sea The Stars a boost?
Thank you.
Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.

Good spot mate, I’ll watch with interest.I think he’ll need to be decent to win this race Boz. There are some nice newcomers and the ones who have run before boast decent form.
Charlie Hill’s Rock N Roll Star was 33/1 on his debut and ran 4th to True Story and the 2nd, 3rd and 5th have all won since. Godolphin run three and the one who has run before, Sudden Wonder, was 4th to Outstrip, with the aforementioned True Story in second. Outstrip went on to lose narrowly to cheeky winner Toormore at Goodwood, so there are decent lines of form there. Just to cloud the issue Gosden has another Hamdan owned runner ridden by William Buick. Should be interesting but I feel it’s just a race to watch for future consideration. Good luck if you are punting on it.
Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.

Thanks for mentioning that one Boz, I had been aware of him but didn’t check if he was due out soon. He holds entries in the Champagne, The Dewhurst and The Derby, so must have been showing something you would think.
Best price I saw for Munjaz this morning is 11/8 and Zerfaal is 2/1 with a Hannon newcomer Barley Mow close behind in the betting.
The stable have had 15 winners in the past two weeks and a good few placed, so no doubt their current odds reflect that form. For that reason I’ll just be watching both of them today.
Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.
August 16, 2013 at 13:26 #448539No show from Zerfaal who was slowly away and the market was all about Barley Mow, who won for the Hannon 2yo factory.
Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.
August 16, 2013 at 19:08 #448557A decent start for Munjaz in 3rd but a bit disappointing given his fancy entries. As I expected, he was plenty short enough in the betting.
In my experience it always seems that the Gosden ones trained for Khalid Abdullah are more likely to be ready to win first time out as a two year old. Maybe that theory will get a test in the coming weeks.
Thanks for the good crack. Time for me to move on. Be lucky.
