March 13, 2012 at 19:50 #396347RIP Harry Handsome.
March 13, 2012 at 20:54 #396365Poor Harry Handsome .. another Sedgefield botch up, poor horse terribly injured at the third and still stricken in front of the next fence when the field nearly ran into him on the second circuit, a couple of blokes rushing to put chevrons on top of the fence and another waving the flag from the side of the jump; just one person at the scene trying to hold on to Harry who was rearing up and so distressed by the field of runners passing him at close quaters … no screens and prob still waiting for a vet.
Sedgefield despite all the complaints they get still not up to speed with welfare.March 13, 2012 at 21:34 #396373I was there it was a disgrace….no one caught the horse it went several hundred yards before attempts to catch it……
March 13, 2012 at 21:38 #396377How desperately sad, no horse should have to suffer like that..shame on Sedgefield races.
RIP Harry Handsome at peace at last.
Things turn out best for those who make the best of how things turn out...March 14, 2012 at 06:35 #396498Asolute disgrace – NO horse should be allowed to suffer like that – and that place should be used to having to respond to such scenarios – they seem to have had far too much practice with their sad record. Poor Harry RIP.
PLEASE contact the course and ask WHY – make your feelings felt. I have emailed C of C Phil Tuck … here’s his email address.March 14, 2012 at 13:53 #396586Horrible incident and, as has been said, very badly dealt with.
Shame on you Sedgefield. Like someone said, you have more than your fair share of injuries so should be more experienced at dealing with them. Disgraceful.
RIP Harry Handsome
March 14, 2012 at 17:35 #396674I have had a reply and it included that BHA Veterinary Officer complimented Sedgefield staff for acting as quickly as they could …
March 15, 2012 at 18:27 #397019Oh dear what a response!!!!! ,…. they really should hold their hands up to this one and get a grip of things at that track.
