Just want to wish Our Vic a long and happy retirement, following the announcement on David Pipe’s website that he is to be retired.

My 2nd favourite ever racehorse (after Red Rum) – he’s been a great servant to the Pipe yard and David Johnson and truly deserves to be kept in the lap of luxury for the rest of his life!

I was hoping he might go in the Peter Marsh again next January but never mind.

A proper trier, a proper stayer, would give 100% every time.

    Legend.

Our Vic has been a fabulous servant, very well handled by the Pipe team.

To come through the physical and mental problems of his early chasing career and be so prolific is exceptional. People knocked his attitude sometimes, but he was very tough to come back from that horrible fall in the Boylesports and all those heartbreaking times he floundered up the Cheltenham hill.

He was often a very backable price too! :D I hope he enjoys his retirement now.
