Weather forecast looks favourable for Digby at the moment, and if he came over, I’d be very interested. Becoming a bit of a cliff horse, but trainer is persistent, and I’ve a feeling it’ll pay off over here in next couple of months. 33’s is hard up resist

The one I have bet though is Moroder. I find it slightly off putting that he’s won this twice already, as it’ll be so tough to to do the hat trick, but he’s a few pounds lower than last year, where he won well, and even with the entry on Friday, I can’t leave him at 40’s

    Digby
    Moroder 40’s

I’m going to bet my two just now, this looks a race to go early. Some Scope 12-1, and Invincible Nao 20-1

If you want a fun angle, I fed in the last ten year’s detailed trends using Horseracebase to chatGPT – here’s its verdict:

    Strongest Trend Fits (Non-Cheltenham Model)
    🟢 1. Theformismighty (9yo, 118, 32 days, 12/1)

    Age ideal

    Fresh enough

    Big RPR (147)

    Mid-range price

    Not favourite

    Stayer profile

    Most complete trend alignment.

    🟢 2. Destroytheevidence (8yo, 12/1)

Slight age negative (8 not ideal but acceptable)

    OR 134 workable

    Price sweet spot

Trainer Bailey historically strong in this race

    🟢 3. Lord Accord (11yo, 20/1)

    Age perfect

    Big price (race allows this)

    Only concern: 98 days off

If fit, fits race pattern extremely well.

Quite surprised Dartmoor Pirate was still as high as 6/1 for this so have to back him here. Looked like he wanted further last time, especially earlier in the race but came through powerfully to win anyway.

    Brutal –
didnt have a bet, but fair play to McLernon; he just bumped him along over last few furlongs, no whip :good:

Rex Dingle falls off Dartmoor Pirate who jumped it fine by the look of it. Poor.

Grim right enough. Deep ground slogging always a hard watch.
