    Good morning everyone,

I’m working on a book about Foinavon. I wonder if anyone who has a story to tell about the 1967 or 1968 Grand Nationals would be kind enough to get in touch with me. I’m especially interested in hearing from anyone who was at Aintree and/or who backed Foinavon (or drew the horse in a workplace sweepstakes or similar).

I’m a trained journalist who worked for the Financial Times for many years, specialising in sport, though not specifically horse racing. You can reach me by email at davidowen58@netscape.net .

One person I am particularly looking to get in touch with at the moment is an ex-jockey called Bruce GREGORY , so any assistance with that would be especially appreciated.

I hope you’ll forgive me for trying to use your forum in this way, but it’s a genuine project and I would be extremely interested to hear from anyone who can shed any light on any aspect of the Aintree experience in the late 1960s, or perhaps who witnessed the horse run elsewhere.

    Many thanks…
