Can you remember that one Darren? ‘The Masked Marvel’.
    https://theracingforum.co.uk/horse-r … 4&p=344067

Hey Darren,i cant put a winner up for Toffee but that will change when

    Aiteen Thirtythree

runs away with the Hennessey! I also think

    Quito de la Roque

will recoup my ‘Weapons Amnesty’ losses in the Gold Cup and

    First Lieutenant

in the RSA are horses i like a lot!

KF: I’m right behind you with 1833 but am worried about Michel le Bon ruining the party! Even if he doesnt i am following this horse all season as he is the apple of Paul Nicholls eye!

I have been looking for something to support in the Gold Cup as Long Run is one i can take on now that i have 6s, got a few quid EW on Wat a Friend but he has loads to prove so may take a peek at some videos of QDLR, my main worry is the lack of placers recently in this event for the Irish!

Seems barmy to say but i can see this Gold Cup field really cutting up! So now is the time to take a punt :D

Yeah i remember MASKED MARVEL was still gutted about Sea Moon not winning the race.Only backed MM on the day i did instead of months in advance

I like First Lieutenaint for RSA as well. But watch out for Sir Des Champs he be a top chaser to.

Any horses for derby yet as well.

    CAMELOT 25/1
    IMPERIAL MONARCH 25/1

    Only bets so far

And i hope i have a good week.

    Wymott to win hennessey 14s
Binocular to win fighting fifth 7/4

GDC, we’re down to 19 runners now for the Hennessey and i can only see 3 possible winners, all of which contested the RSA.I have an almost obsessive ritual for backing 2nd season chasers in this great race dating back to

    Arctic Call

    in 1990.My only concern about

    Aiteen Thirtythree

is he’s giving weight away to his fellow RSA contenders

    Wymott

    and

    Wayward Prince

.One of them will win,i’m sure of it! Watch Ginge back all 3 now!
Regarding the Gold Cup,i’m all over

    Quito de la Roque

, he has everything required for it,i just hope he gets there in one piece,16/1 is still available and thats generous,Get On!

To be honest Darren,i’m a big fan of ‘The Gigginstown’ horses aswell, the best looking horse in their colours has to be

    Magnanimity

    , i like him a lot.
    I’m as confident about

    Camelot

winning the 2000gns as Joni was about Frankel but like Frankel,i just cant see him being a Derby horse, sorry mate! 3/1 is unreal,at least your on at 25/1,it gives you something to look forward too when you ‘steal’ a price like that.Fingers crossed!

While there no standout 2yos for miling division next year why you think Camelot will win 2000 guineas.Monjeau 3yos never win at a 1m as a 3yo.So intresting to know why you think he will change that.

    BORN TO SEA 50/1

Only guineas horse so far as race does not look to good

Also mate i suggest you watch debut of IMPERIAL MONARCH i think he be top class next year.He may want soft ground but i think is class will win races on fast ground.

    WAS to win oaks 25/1

DISCOURSE 8/1 To win 1000 guineas

They are my classic bets for next year.

Good to know you’re on Quito De La Roque, I’ve been behind him since he won his point to point! Any fancy prices?

I can see him travelling well (despite the general consensus that’ll he’ll struggle in that regard), and powering away from Long Run up the hill, ala Weapon’s Amnesty.

Darren, you are a decent Ante-Post judge,i shall watch with interest, again you have the price on your colt.Remember to lay some off though when you feel the time is right! Somewhere inside the last furlong when he trades at Even money or less is my fav tactic.

    Camelot

has the one thing that his stable companion lacked? The speed for a mile,

    St Nicholas Abbey

was of a similar profile but has since proved a much slower rate of development hindered his 3yo campaign,i believe Derek Smith will finally get his colours into the Winners enclosure at Newmarket in May with the slightly precocious

    Camelot

    .Its his Dams side through

    Tarfah

that shouts stamina worries to me,her immediate family consists of great sprinter/milers,’Danehill’ 6-7f, ‘Miesque’ 1m, ‘Kingmambo’ 1m, and ‘Mr Prospector’ 1m, Sire of the likes of ‘Machiavellian’ and ‘Ravinella’.

Kind of you to say Tommy bearing in mind my recent record on here! As you know the majority of my betting is on Betfair, where i like to ‘snaffle’ a fancy price or two and try to lay it off in running,i did just that brilliantly with my old pal God bless him

    Razor Royale

at Ascot the other week, backed at 25, and 6 to place and layed off at 1/2 in running! Anyway i saw the 50’s on

    Quito de la Roque

back in the summer and left it thinking greedily he’ll be one of those horses who drifts to the 100+ mark,he looks quite a stuffy sort,he ran like he needed it on his debut the other week at Down Royal but it was his Punchestown victory over my mate ‘Reve de Sivola’ that confirmed to me he was the real deal,i thought then ‘Reve’ will never reverse the form with this fellow so i’m on to £50 at 30’s mate, thats the best price i’ve got for now! ala ‘Weapons Amnesty’ indeed mate!

Gord what you think of SWORD OF DESTINY has gears to win at 2m5 and stamina for 3m as well.Another star at Giggistown house.

    Any news on Magnanimity

Any thoughts on grand national i like Junoir at 25s and Synchrionsed at 50

Darren i have no connections to the Gigginstown horses but i would hope there is no problem with

    Magnanimity

    as i like him a lot,regarding

    Sword of Destiny

all i know is Davy Russell has stated several times that he rates this fellow very highly,i’ll wait till i see him jump a fence before making an Ante-Post decision.

    Junior

will be aimed at Cheltenham again (Kim Muir) and ‘hopefully’ Aintree, not that i would give him a cats chance in the National as he doesn’t pick his front legs up at times when he will need to,he’s got the engine for it though,No question.

    Beshabar

is my early Ante-Post selection for the National,he has a bit more class than Junior and plenty of scope,he wont disgrace himself today!

I think Sword Of Destiny will go for a Albert Bartlett race at festival.

And had a winner in my tips thread Hey Big Spender 9/2 last night it was when i put it up.And hope you can pop in my thread as well you be welcome there and so is Ginger as well.

Also Gordon pipe has said Junior main target is Aintree he have a hurdle race in feb. Then go to festival then Aintree. The national is the main race for him as Pipe has said.

I dont know how many on here actually play the in-running markets but there are times when its a licence to print money.Yesterdays Hennessy Gold cup was a fine example of just that.Prior to the race the vibes for my selection

    Aiteen thirtythree

,whom i had backed at 12’s and 10’s were negative so i was looking to lay him off to cover my stake,on the other hand the positive remarks from trainer Mark Bradstock surrounding his stable star

    Carruthers

were positive and at the weights he was certainly well handicapped,(4th in a Gold Cup).As the race progressed it was quite apparent Mattie Batchelor was keen to allow Carruthers his customary head to keep competitive,he was sent off a well backed 10/1 shot and yet after 4 fences he was 26’s on the machine and 5’s to place in the first 4,incidentally my selection traded at 11/4 at the same point, after a circuit it was blatantly obvious to me that Carruthers was enjoying himself,he traded at 22’s incredibly and mine touched 9/4,i was still happy though the race panned out much as one would have expected and approaching 5 out i was totally convinced that not only was Carruthers guaranteed to place but he was the one to beat, unbelievably he touched 16’s at this point but trying to snaffle it proved impossible, jumping 4 from home he’s slashed into 4’s and that was still a gift,if you could get on as he can battle and stay,he did just that by outstaying 2 good horses in Great Endeavour and Planet of sound,

    Beshabar

is the horse to take from the race however! The irony of this post is that i failed to get on at any of the above prices,i did get the 5’s to place though. So angry at myself was i poor old

    Hey Big Spender

got the full force at 7/2,now he was different class to that lot! tb!

I like the Henry V111 Novices Chase at Sandown on Saturday, some old pals of mine have won it in the past, most recently

    Somersby

    ,but so too has

    Direct Route

,still guts me to see him ‘Robbed’ in the Champion Chase,

    Fondmort

    tough as teak and

    Wonder Man

,Shirley Robins fine Chaser who did a turn for both Jenny and The Duke.My Nov Chaser for this year is

    Al Ferof

,i cant see past him for The Arkle,Peddlars Cross will get too low at Cheltenham and pay for it,i hope

    Sprinter Sacre

turns up as he will be a good yardstick for assessing collateral form,if the Real

    Megastar

turns up he too would make a case for bolstering Cheltenham form but nothing ticks all the boxes like the Grey.
