Jwildman – that was horrible to read this morning. I am really sorry that things have got this bad. Time to get a grip though I’m afraid. I would say go home for the rest of the summer and forget about racing for a while. Sorry to be harsh but it sounds like things are completely out of hand.
Zarkava – for once I agree wih with you, we really do have a shocking bunch of sprinters. A different one seems to win each time so picking the winner of the July Cup will not be easy especially as there is plenty of rain about. I promise I am not trying to wind you up in view of our recent disagreement but I do think a 3 year old will win it.
Zoffany
is an unlikely runner according to the Ballydoyle Press Agency (Maureens tweets – pathetic isnt it?!!) and he actually ran by far his worst 2 year old race on soft ground when beaten a long way behind Pathfork and Casamento in the Vincent O’ Brien.
Elzaam
is still progressive and I know Gord likes him but Roger Varian said he is a far from definite runner and
Delegator
will certainly not appreciate any rain.
For me at today’s prices it is worth taking a chance that the rain will come and I will be backing
Dream Ahead
. I agree with you that his Middle Park win might have been overrated but he still won the Prix Morny well on his previous start beating a decent yard stick in Tin Horse.
He ran really well on his comeback run in the St James Palace, making up ground in the straight before tiring in the final furlong when his lack of stamina was exposed.
The more rain the better for this fellow and he is a definite runner having been taken out of the Jean Prat for this race. Everything I have heard about him over the winter suggests he has trained on really well and I am sure 6f is his optimum trip. 12-1 is good enough for me.

July 5, 2011 at 08:08 #363616Not even a mention for War Artist? This fellow has run in big sprints just about everywhere and never seems to run a bad race. I’ll be on E/W on Saturday.
July 5, 2011 at 12:02 #363630KF: As I enjoy ante post betting and have been doing OK for the past 3 years i will add my 3 against the massive Stewards Cup field:
I cannot desert
2nd on my list is the one i ‘steered’ you towards from Ascot in
Finally i am with a horse currently on the easy list but hopefully Jim Goldie can have him ready to ‘fire’ again.
That;s my bets in a nutshell so far

He was 5th in the King’s Stand – the worst King’s Stand we’ve seen in about 10 years. He’s also quite a big horse and struggles to get a run. No wins in fields bigger than 13 in 14 attempts.
July 5, 2011 at 14:04 #363646KF: Group Therapy out Saturday at York and Mr Barron has listened to my moaning and groaning and dropped the fella down into Listed Class again, BOOM watch him skate in

Well, that’s the plan anyway
July 5, 2011 at 16:33 #363657Thanks, Zarkava. Your posts are one of the big attractions here as far as I’m concerned. I suppose it’s the consistency of War Artist that attracts me, along with his globe-trotting.
July 5, 2011 at 16:38 #363659I am genuinely humbled by that. Thank you.
July 5, 2011 at 17:47 #363666Blimey this thread is becoming a cross between a GA meeting and a John and Yoko love-in! Keep it coming – it’s better than watching Eastenders.

Yep, we just need Fist(dirty Den) to make a return from the dead.

Charles Darwin to conquer the World
July 5, 2011 at 20:00 #363680Actually thinking about it I think it’s more like Dallas on here:
Swap oil magnate for property and Gord is an absolute ringer for JR Ewing. We could even have a who shot TAPK? storyline with Fist, Corm and Pinza as the main suspects.
Fist would be Cliff Barnes – JR’s nemesis.
Zarkava would be Gary – the youngest brother who ended up in Falcon’s Crest.
JWildman would have to don a dress, swap AA for GA and become Sue Ellen.
Miss Woodford would be Lucy. Corm would be Jock and Pinza would be the priest that would pop up every 5th episode or so.
That leaves you and me Nath to fight for the part of Bobby!

July 5, 2011 at 20:02 #363681Thank god I’m too young to understand any of that.
July 5, 2011 at 20:19 #363683Joni,you are a card,a funny one though! This thread could be compared more to
Oceans Eleven
than ****** Dallas,i of course would be the George Clooney character as i am the best lookin on here, the rest of my team all have a role to play as ultimately we are all thieves in the night aiming to steal the best prices available.
July 5, 2011 at 20:21 #363684Amazing. I have never seen an episode of Dallas, but still,
amazing
. Oh and sorry to dampen your morning with my post, Jonibake – i’ve got what i wanted to say out so i’ll hush now, and doing in so i’ll have to regrettably forfeit my typecast effeminate role, but yes, homeward bound i most probably am. No bets since Saturday, so these GA sessions must be helping soothe my aching soul. I mean, i went shopping this week and got seven meals for £8, so i’m satisfied that if anything, at least i’m not going to starve.

That’s fine, as long as I’m Brad Pitt.
July 5, 2011 at 21:08 #363688I’ve got the guns to be Scott Caan
July 5, 2011 at 21:13 #363689We’re sorted then! Mind you is there a Ginger one in the crew? Now whats going to win the Bunbury Cup on Saturday?
July 5, 2011 at 21:43 #363693George Clooney?!!! George Formby more like.
Delusions of grandeur as usual KF. Don’t know whether it’s your Scottish heritage but I when I think of you I always visualize Gordon Brown.

Re – Bunbury Cup – my namesake
Our Jonathan
– as long as ground is good.
