KF: Thanks, yep a nice profit made on the single bet and also the trixie with 2nd and NR.

Annoying thing is the only other horse i was contemplating was Baldings other one Stage Attraction which went and won at 4s

Onwards and upwards, have jumped on the band wagon and taken the 14s re Deauville Flyer :D

Am in the process of selecting something myself so will let you know (and chuckle LOL) once published. 8)

KF: Unusually i do not think this race will be as competitive as usual, my reasoning being Overturn will set a good clip from the front and the majority of the classier horses who are doubtful stayers will fall away.

The 2 that i have come up with against DF is Montaff from the Channon yard who at 25s looks nice EW but should not be able to beat DF on previous running.

I have backed Gosdens Investissement to win though as he looked very good when winning LTO.

Take a look at 2 today also mate:#

415 Bev: Skeletor sends one all the way to beverly for its debut and is owned for his better half, well bred this may be able to win FTO in what looks a weak affair.

300 Bri: Soft ground lover Foxtrot Alpha could just about beat Lastkingofscotland, the 5lb claimer could make all the difference but a sneaky RFC is also in order, when in doubt top and bottom for the FC :D

Overturn looks a great e/w bet at 8/1. He won this comfortably last year and if he can dictate from the front again he’ll be very hard to catch.

Electric Qatar from Tom Dascombe’s yard is without doubt their best regarded 2yo from entries held. Declared at Newcastle on Thursday.

Geez, where have you heard that from GDC,she’s about as old as the St Leger and should know better, that horse has St Leger written all over him! 33/1 for the Arc then eh? He wouldn’t disgrace himself if it came up really Soft,he’s a fine big stamp of a horse too,i like him a lot!

Just spotted it on the Sporting life Website, its a quote from James Wigan her racing manager stating

    Nathaniels

a far from certain runner in the oldest Classic as he prefers the altenative 11/2m races around the same time as the Leger but wont divulge what! Urgh, The Arc,The Arc or The Arc,Geez what a job he’s got unless there’s an all weather Group race at Southwell i’ve missed!

KF: Well it is generally soft at the Arc meeting these days so maybe you have a point!!

Sadly i have 7s for the Leger but hey ho that’s ante post punting for you :D

I shall not let it ‘prohibit’ me from my ante post wagers

I can usually get my head round any Ante-Post race and narrow a 100 or so decs down to about 4 with big chances but this years John Smiths Magnet Cup is doing my head in,there are so many unexposed 3yo’s who all look well handicapped that i’m struggling to single a few out.If Distant Memories carries top weight i would be confident there’s a ‘dark’ horse in there to beat him.The 4yo,Pekan Star trades as the 5/1fav on Betfair,i keep going back to

    Al Kazeem

    at 14’s,i like his profile.

Since when was the July Cup run on the same day as The Magnet Cup?Role on July 9th then.I have been backing my selection for this years July cup for several weeks now at small stakes on Betfair at 15’s.I have also managed to get on with Corals at 10/1,his form is in the book,he’s still improving and i can see another big performance coming from

    Elzaam

.What really caught my eye about Saturdays Golden Jubilee is the fact that the Ascot 6f is a lot tougher than the July courses and yet Elzaam was still running on well, particularly on ground that is softer than ideal.I believe this fellow is blessed with more speed than stamina and granted good ground will have more than enough toe to put it down to the likes of Delegator, who is a worthy fav by the way!

    Elzaam

    £200 e/w 10/1 Corals,July Cup

    £8200

KF: You have to like taking 11/4 about Foxtrot Alpha and seeing it hose up at 7/4 :D

Every now and then i get it right with my small band of trainers 8)

Well played GDC,one piece of advice though, never risk picking a winner and a horse to finish 2nd in a Forecast, its like trying to pick 2 winners of the same race when we all know picking the one is hard enough! Whilst you were enjoying the 3,0pm at Brighton i was busy watching a horse called

    Dilum

winning the 1991 Coventry Stakes!

    Role on Nora later :D

Agree with Elzaam, I had him ante-post for the Jubilee, couldn’t quicken on that ground. Action is suited by top-of-the-ground. Hope to save or better on Delegator (no run for our money last week King, 14/1  ) They should give thee and me more than 5’s as "compensation"! Fat chance.
Dream ahead would be interesting if (big IF) it remains soft.

The reason i ask is i was brought up on Military Bases, starting in Uxbridge,London then we moved to Catterick and i was gutted,it was like moving from the center of the world to the biggest Sh*thole on the planet,Leuchars Fife, was somewhere in between! You must miss London Soldier?
