What you think of JUNGLE BEAT a horse that is trained by Gosden and owned by Tabor and the gang same colours as Seville he is.I find him a intresting horse i do.
Never been a fan of
Storm Cats
progeny Darren,i dont think he’ll stay either to be honest.
Swedish sailor
did win his maiden well,i liked the Cecil/Abdulla colt that day,he will stay no problem but its early days yet.
Been waiting for that one darren!
Very well regarded at Warren Place! You don’t mean FRANKEL’S BROTHER do you Gord?!!!!
Well at least you haven’t transferred your prejudices to his baby bro! Won nicely didn’t he?!"this perfect mix of poetry and destruction, this glory of rhythm, power and majesty: the undisputed champion of the world!!!"
April 21, 2012 at 17:09 #401675Gord what you think of Merrigo won he did and was fav to.
Am happy CAPTAIN BERTIE held on for me.Will FURY win again keeps getting placed
Do you think NOBLE MISSION will win a trail race as well.
April 21, 2012 at 20:49 #401703KF: I have been told Paul Mulrennan will win easily tomorrow at Nottingham in the 700, MISTRESS OF ROME will love the ground and be held up and hopefully come late and pick them all up.
Taken 5s with 365 and will have some more in the morning if others offer better.

Good work GDC,I only took 5/2 but a winners a winner mate Cheers!

Bloody
Merigo
if he’s not the most leniently treated horse ever my names numpty!
Fury
did everything I expected today darren and he really stretched out well, giving a stone to ‘The Captain’ will prove a fine performance in time to come! Incredibly these so called bias draws in big fields are coming to nothing as again the field all head straight down the middle leaving Kieran with a nightmare passage through, not his finest ride!

Agree about the ride on Fury KF. Fallon was asking for trouble where he positioned the horse early doors, took a while for the gaps to come but having said that he was close enough two furlongs out. Also, did you receive my pm last weekend?
Still don’t know why I can’t quote properly either!
April 22, 2012 at 18:50 #401818Hey Tommy, incredible how these big field handicaps are panning out,you would expect a Jockey of Fallons experience to maximise the fact that his horse was well drawn and at least tuck him in towards the stands side of the ‘arrowhead’ that is inevitably formed when the whole field go centre! No he goes straight up the middle of the whole group……asking for trouble and he got it! William Carson on the other hand positioned his horse perfectly on the far side of the ‘arrowhead’ and suffered no traffic problems at all!
Captain Bertie
has to be rated low 90’s after that run with
Fury
on a mark of 100,The Hunt Cup will see them clash again and ‘Fury’ Will need Soft ground more so than ‘The Captain’ I’ll be on both again though! PM recieved mate, all is fine and Dandy!
April 22, 2012 at 18:57 #401821If there is any improvement to come in Fury it will be over less than a mile. He had arguably optimum conditions yesterday so everything indicates that he is handicapped up to the level of his ability. Mr Haggas will have to fiddle about with him to get a race out of him as he is likely to be raised for his effort yesterday.

Small world Eclipse.I’ve just contributed to your own interesting thread about
Fury
actually stepping up in trip for the ‘Cambridgeshire’,he certainly wont be dropped back in trip,if anything he’s a Group 3 11/4m horse in the making!
April 22, 2012 at 19:43 #401827A bold theory KF! I thought he was in the clear plenty soon enough to go and win the race so hence my doubts about him being well handicapped. I suppose you could argue he used his turn of foot up getting in the clear and if he requires further that he was outpaced by a true miler. Alternatively 7f on soft ground could be his ideal trip and his defeat yesterday was due to not quite getting home. One of us may be proved right.
April 23, 2012 at 18:00 #401919Gord do you think this BIOGRAPHER will win at Windsor i remember you giving this a mention. When i asked you for any unraced 3yos to watch out for.A great memory i got.
April 23, 2012 at 20:16 #401930Gord have you got any horses to win the derby next year at big prices.CAMELOT is my main bet am on at 25/1.But i think with the horses that are a big price now.Like BONFIRE,JUNGLE BEAT,
SWEEDISH SAILOR and IMPERIAL MONARCH.Darkhorse at ballydoyle he is.
any lighty raced horses you like for the big race at Epsom.I just cant see
Camelot
being a Derby horse at all,a Guineas winner Yes!
Bonfire
,i like a lot,the Mill Reef colours though would be the only connection to winning The Derby imo Darren,11/4m yes but these ‘Night Shift’ sorts have more speed than Stamina, was
Azamour
really a 11/2m horse? Not imo.A horse i was waiting to see was called
Biographer
he is owned by the
Masked Marvel
connections and has a Derby entry but again his breeding is questionable.
Imperial Monarch
did catch the eye at the Curragh and is related to 2 Derby winners in Galileo and Slip anchor,he’ll be a leger sort i’m sure, too much stamina for a Derby winner! The horse i like most but isn’t entered in The Derby is the Godolphin French Colt called
Mandaean
,now he has a look about him!
darren I did back
Biographer
today,e/w of course thank goodness as Ted Durcan never put him in the race at any point! It was a lovely ‘educational’ ride, never touched with the whip and running on very strongly.A 11/4m was always going to be on the short side for this smart looking colt and he did run in snatches, horses do change their legs at Windsor so I wont hold that against him and I reckon so long as the ground isn’t too firm he’ll handle better conditions well,he was very green today and he’ll come on a ton for it.The Lingfield Derby trial is an obvious target if he’s as good as I think he’ll be! I’m still excited about this
Mandaean
colt,I see the ‘Dante’ is being touted as a possible target,I’ve backed him at 25/1 for Epsom.Talking of Epsom I see
Maybe
has taken over from
Wading
as the Ante-Post fav for The Oaks! She is not a 11/2m filly imo!
April 24, 2012 at 12:26 #401988Any thoughts on Punchestown this week i like CITIZENSHIP and BIG ZEB today. And CAPTAIN CHRIS with VENTURE CAPITAL my NAP of the meeting.
Do you think WADING got a injury for it to drift like that
And i agree with you on MAYBE it seems like THE FUGUE will be picking up the Oaks this year

I don’t like this MANDAEN i felt he drifted about last time he won and he seems better with cut in the ground too.
April 24, 2012 at 19:43 #402041The Whitbread has long been a favourite of mine going back to the days of those famous Pink colours of Fred winters
Plundering
,I remember an old fav of mine
Kildimo
giving weight to the legendary
Desert Orchid
in the 1987 renewal and giving him a fright jumping the last.’Kildimo’ was one of those characters who had his quirks,he was a long backed horse who never seemed to be able to arch it over a fence,he was a frustrating character too but he did win over the National fences after ‘Harvey Smith’ had re-educated him,he reminds me an awful lot of
Tidal Bay
and I can see Sandowns unique test bringing the best out of this fellow.Top weight concerns me none as if ever there was a ‘Top Weights’ course its Sandown,he’ll never get run off his feet round there as its not a Gallopers Course, the quick succession of fences might just keep this fellow interested,as for the opposition, not one of them is anywhere near the class of this old rogue,I can see a big performance coming!
Tidal Bay
£150 e/w 10/1 Bet365 Whitbread Gold Cup.
£325
April 24, 2012 at 19:57 #402042As much as I like Tidal Bay for the complete disdain he has for the people that sit upon his back, for him to be considered a 10/1 chance with top weight shows how far the Whitbread has sunk from its heyday. At the current prices, Deep Purple would have more appeal.
April 25, 2012 at 11:06 #402085KF: Today brings my first opportunity to check out one of my fancies for this years ‘Dash’. Last season the 2 that i took out of the race were Confessional (recently disappointed) and Fathom Five. Now Fathom Five has moved from Dandy (never managed a win) to Gary Moore who does well enough. For me today I will leave him and take a watching brief however there is one that I am considering backing.
Batchelors Star ran a very nice race LTO at the Curragh (Listed event) on soft ground, my main concern is he will not have raced on a track like Epsom where the camber catches many good horses out! Obviously a high draw is of paramount importance and he has that.
Available at 20s and possibly more he is worth an EW dabble!
I have backed
355 is a good looking race, cannot separate Resurge and Ramona Chase BUT the dark horse could well be
Good Luck
April 25, 2012 at 11:50 #402094Hi Gord,
Seem to remember you backing
Magnanimity
more than once this season. Today may be the time to get on. Looks the only out and out stayer in this field. Goes well on heavy. Still going ok before a bad mistake ended his chance in Irish National. On form shouldn’t be good enough, but can’t see many here showing their best. Good each way bet at massive prices. Missed the 33/1, but 25/1 (SJ) is too good to ignore.
