Thats about the best I got Nath,a helluva lot had exposure problems due to just how dark
Dandino
is and the bloody great white spot on his head, the camera didn’t know what to expose for! Only horse I’ve ever really struggled with! By the way he doesn’t get a yard over 11/2m! (Coronation Cup)!

Would be interested to know whether Jonny Mudball was the pick of the paddock, watching the race it seemed like there were a few of the principles merely blowing away the cobwebs.

Tax Free
was the pick of the paddock and duly won best turned out, there’s still a decent prize in this fellow and Kieran was suitably impressed,he’ll ride him again!

That’s why Henderson got shot of him as there’s no hurdle races at 11/2m………

Photos look fine, thanks for taking the time to take them Gord. I can see why he lost now as some old sod is walking him around the paddock and not one of those nice hot pretty females.

Charles Darwin to conquer the World
April 12, 2012 at 08:01 #400091KF: Great shots of Dandino mate but how disappointing was Solar Sky, the going must have been faster than advertised!
Many thanks for Chilly Filly, looked very good in the ring and Brian Ellison was there which was a tip in itself
April 12, 2012 at 09:18 #400102GDC,guess who never had a penny on
Chilly Filly
? Too busy at Nottingham, the ground was on the slow side of good but defineately not soft. The highlight of the day incidentally called ‘The Further Flight’ race day was the presence of Barry Hills,he looked in good shape apart from his now constant croaky voice but he still managed to speak to all and sign autographs and the odd picture,I told him I had always watched how he placed his horses from
Cormorant Wood
,
Far Lane
,
Pablo
and most recently this
Captain Bertie
,he agreed he would have won the Lincoln had he got in,I said Royal Hunt Cup Barry and quick as a flash he replied ‘not even I can get him in that’! Class man,Class dresser a proper legend of the Turf and to this day a fearless gambler,my sort of guy!
April 12, 2012 at 10:14 #400112KF: Great news that Mr Hills was out and about and in good form

Weather at Catterick was as ‘sunny’ as usual with downpours and winds

Had a nice patent running, your Chilly Filly and my Onenightinheaven running onto that old rogue HI DANCER who only wins when he bloody wants to

Still a great day at the races and good fun

GDC – I didnt think Solar Sky was disappointing at all. He was given a very tender ride (typical of Cecil horses first time out) and was staying on nicely at the end. He clearly needs further than this now and his trainer has also said he would prefer better ground. Dont give up on him yet.
"this perfect mix of poetry and destruction, this glory of rhythm, power and majesty: the undisputed champion of the world!!!"
April 13, 2012 at 12:54 #400325I want to see
Darlan
prove today why I rate him as Champion hurdle material for next year.I have backed him every week at 25/1 since Cheltenham and am pretty confident this fellow has improvement to come. All the 2/1 has gone which is a confidence boost too!
April 13, 2012 at 13:11 #400328Good to see a racing certainty win like that as for Nicky Henderson suggesting he’ll jump a fence next year!!!! My A*se he will,he’s a hurdler through and through a Champion hurdle winner Mark my words! 16/1 now is still too big Get On!
April 13, 2012 at 13:15 #400331Nickys come to his senses in no time at all! I’m glad he saw what I saw and that this fellow is not a Chaser,he’ll stay over hurdles for another year at least as he’s very flat at his obstacles, plenty speed though!
