    “Too bad to be true”

Another racing cliche I don’t like.

It WAS true – he ran and pulled up.

While he obviously didn’t run to form, he did illustrate he’s capable of running a shocker and when you’ve run one shocker, you can run another one.

It’s looking like a ” Lord Windermere ” year , start looking at the bigger prices runners

It simply is too bad to be true though Ian. The horse has never ran so poorly in its life. So on all known evidence up to this point that run today was not it’s true running.

I’m not exactly cock a hoop about the performance given he’s my fancy for the GC but nor am I down in the dumps thinking it’s game over. Now might be the time to press up another bet on him.

Runs like that again next time though and you can lob the receipt in the log burner.

As already stated, A Plus Tard “obviously didn’t run to form.”

But as also stated: “when you’ve run one shocker, you can run another one.”

I am always prepared to forgive a horse for one bad run. But there is a lot to forgive after that run.

No one could possibly back him with any confidence next time.

See. I’m probably happier that he’s run a total stinker than I would of been if he’d jumped the last 8 length down and beaten by Frodon and Bristol seemingly with nothing left to give.

The fact he’s pulled up before 4 out instantly tells you there’s an underlying reason for such a poor run.

Was it worse than Minella indo,s first run last year ? ….yes and I reckon most of us don’t think he can win a GC , if he scoped badly then you have an excuse , Rachel said she was never happy with him …I think the not fit angle is out the window

A Plus Tard’s poor run was down to Lancastrians stood around the paddock mispronouncing his name – most distressing.

He’ll be ok back at Cheltenham – more people can speak French there.

Because he’s a shoe in for the Ryanair. So if he’s highly unlikely to run in the race he’s bad value.

I don’t think Mullins even mentioned a fact finder for him over 3m when ruling him out the king George so to me he’s not even being considered for the GC now.

I feel disloyal backing Chantry House ew rather than win only but 66s is a good price. He’ll be shorter this afternoon :-)

I wish I had listened to Ruby Walsh. He tipped Noble Yeats for the Gold Cup at 66/1 on this week’s “Road To Cheltenham”.

Ive got carried away this year with this race already

    STATTLER 20/1 EW
    GALLOPIN 6/1……

Had to do A PLUS TARD after Haydock with 365 as they went 12/1 (ew)

Then had a screwy bet on NOBLE YEATS at 50/1 with 365 before Saturdays Many Clouds….Seemed rude not to

    STATTLER 20/1 EW
    GALLOPIN 6/1
    A PLUS TARD 12/1 EW
    NOBLE YEATS 50/1 EW
