Henry seems back in control. Enough for me to back A Plus Tard again for the big one. His win last year is still the best form out there.

    A Plus Tard 8/1

Ground looks like it could be turning in Protektorat’s favour

Had to have an each way go on Royal Pagaille with the ground going against some of these and very much in his favour.

Met office showing a mainly dry outlook overnight and morning with chance of a tomorrow afternoon shower.

Now the ground has been opened up any rain on it will have a bigger effect plus it has been raining today as well so likely to be very tiring ground unless they do have more rain which could make it softer but easier to get through.

APT at 10s – antepost from December ’22.

    Am i confident? Nope.
But any doubts about the stable’s form have been dispelled this week.

I might punt another tomorrow – the ground likely to be a big factor; maybe Noble Yeats? We’ll see :good:

As HDLG pointed out in the Ryanair thread, Fury Road didn’t do much for the Irish Gold Cup form today. Added to that, Franco De Port was beaten 12l further by Delta Work yesterday than he had been by GDC at Leopardstown.

GDC may still win, of course, but it isn’t difficult to pick holes in his form.

The bookies got 3 sorties beat today , with money in there satchels if the money keeps coming for APT then I see the bookies pushing GDC out

Galopin Des Champs may be the next flying machine, but has it to prove and is underpriced for me.

Bravemansgame is probably still on the way up and has the strongest Grade 1 form from this season. 15/2 avaiable in a place this evening which seems generous as I can’t see there’s much difference in his form and that of GDC.

Sounds Russian 28/1 e/w 5 places has improved steadily thoroughout his career, really catching the eye early on at Kelso, though must overcome a tendency to make one bad error a race. That aside conditions suit and he’s goes better the more stamina comes into play and well capable of getting into the first 5. As an aside, if this bet succeeds I may get a clothing discount or two as some weeks ago I tipped this one to the racing follower Sales Manager of the Edinburgh Woollen Mill shop at the Deer Centre near Cupar!

Thought GDC might have drifted due to the ground and Henry’s good form, but no evidence yet. He has been visually impressive, but If APT is in the same form as last year the race will be for second.
Ahoy Senor 18/1, ew, 4 places with P Power

The money for APT isn’t that a big surprise, but the the winners HDB has had at this meeting, none of them as far as I am aware came back with blood wrong on seasonal debut and then miss all their intended preps.

I’m more hopeful of a couple of others from his yard tomorrow who seemingly haven’t had an interrupted season like that.

I’m a huge fan of APT in general. But even allowing for De Bromheads form at the meeting he’s still way too much of a risk.

It’s BMG all day long for me.

If he wins I can turn my week around and then some!

Added Hewick at 50/1. He has ran to some serious ratings this season and he is a real stayer. And it wouldn’t be the fist tima a stayers runs on for a place.

    A Plus Tard 8/1
    Hewick 50/1 EW
