Hi all
Mikael D’haguenet looked something special last time. I was just wondering what you think of him and if he will win today?
Thanks
January 4, 2009 at 17:59 #201499I should think so.
Mikael D’Haguenet was running allover Pandorama last time at Navan. From my notes, I stated that Pandorama wasnt given a hard time by Carberry, however, Mikael D’Haguenet looked the likely winner from 2 or 3 hurdles out.
From what I have written about The Bishop Looney, he won a decent race which included Pomme Tiepy, and Part Presenting. That race at Cork on the 14th December was on heavy going and was a 3 mile race. The Bishop Looney did it well that day, in stamina sapping conditions, and although was slightly one paced on the run in, didn’t look like being caught.
A drop back in trip may play into his strengths more, and at 8/1 could represent decent EW value within the race.
Fisher Bridge is taking a step up in distance today after a disappointing last race, at Fairyhouse when finishing last of 8 runners in a hot race including Hurricane Fly and Cousin Vinny.
A step up in trip to 2 and a half miles, like he will get today, may play to his strengths more.
However, Mikael D’Haguenet looks the one to beat after an impressive race last time out.
January 4, 2009 at 18:07 #201504He won’t make you rich today that’s for sure
1/3 or something. I think Hurrcane Fly will run in the Supreme and this fellow will run in the Ballmore and Cousin Vinny will come over to fill the horse box up…then CV could pop up to Segdefield where he will probably win the first if the ground suits
January 4, 2009 at 18:07 #201505Mikael D’Haguenet certainly looks very hard to beat but his price reflects that, think Clan Tara at 12-1 would probably be the one I’d go for as an e/w, if there would be a decent pace on.
January 4, 2009 at 18:24 #201511No way i’d be touching it at 1/3. The others could run it close, and i suspect one or two other won’t be far behind at all, most noteably Bishop Looney and Western Charmer @ 9s and 12s.
If he comes down to a race at the last hurdle or 2, then it could fall obviously, so i’d rather not be bricking it on placing decent money at those shortened odds.
January 4, 2009 at 18:59 #201519Fairly easy for Mikael D’Haguenet there.
They went no pace early on did they.
Seems to like heavy ground. Don’t think we learnt a great deal about the horse there, but did what he needed to, well.
The Bishop Looney’s jumping wasn’t great, lost momentum at his hurdles and made a mistake at the last.
January 4, 2009 at 19:01 #201520Yup, a good horse and good performance. I still haven’t changed my mind about the value though.
January 4, 2009 at 19:41 #201530Very messy race pacewise and it turned into a sprint which wouldn’t have suited Mikael D’Haguenet but he did it well enough in the end. Don’t think we learned a great deal about him today other than he’s a very promising horse.
Personally, I don’t think he’ll go to Cheltenham. Willie said he wouldn’t want to risk him if the ground came up quick and that he’d be worried about him coming down the hill. Reading between the lines, I’d say he’s more likely to stay at home.
It’ll be very interesting to see where he goes next. The Deloitte would be the obvious target but Cousin Vinny and Hurricane Fly would also have that on their agenda’s you’d think. I’d love to see him take on Pandorama again. I know he beat him easy at Navan but I’m not convinced that Pandorama gave his true running that day. Everyone was talking him up as the second coming before that race (myself included) and while it’s obvious now he’s not that good, I still wouldn’t be putting a line through him after one defeat.
February 24, 2009 at 06:07 #212040Braving the cold winter weather, Sarah Jessica Parker was spotted out in New York City earlier today (February 6).
Dressed for the chilliness, the actress bundled up to stay warm in a knitted hat, navy blue parka, jeans, and some cozy UGG boots as she exited her Big Apple abode.
In related news, New Line Cinema spokeswoman, Candice McDonough, has confirmed that SJP’s “Sex and the City” will have a sequel ?C due out in summer 2010.
The movie will again include her three co-stars, Kim Cattrall, Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon, along with writer-director Michael Patrick King.
Talking about the movie, King is keeping fans guessing, stating, “I’m very excited to work with these amazing actresses again and would love to give everyone more information about this sequel..but I’m busy with my ‘Sex’ life.”
I love uggs .February 24, 2009 at 13:48 #212046uhmmmmm….. ?
February 24, 2009 at 18:54 #212088An interesting take on the Slaney for sure.
February 24, 2009 at 19:17 #212092Eh … gamble2 is that you??????
February 24, 2009 at 21:16 #212129I think he’s trying to express his concern with Mikael D’Haguenet’s knee action on better ground at Cheltenham
