Just seen a job advert placed in the local rag by Godolphin. They’re looking for a Veterinary Laboratory and Pharmacy Manager based in their laboratory at their two prestigious estates in Newmarket.
Experience in Haematology and biochemistry machines and ordering pharmaceuticals from the on-site pharmacy.
I just wonder how the minnows of the training World can ever aspire to cope with this sort of uneven playing field. It must be very disheartening to realise that their everyday efforts to survive are competing with the vast resources of an elite of riches.
KMarch 6, 2010 at 08:32 #280781Which got me to thinking…..in the same way that we have certain races restricted to the ability of jockeys and horses perhaps we should have races designed solely for trainers of a certain threshold. Even on the all weather we see the valuable races being cherry-picked by the more established and successful yards. Maybe it’s time to share the cake amongst the lesser lights of the training establishment.

Given the VAST outlay, you might expect the Chelsea / Coolmore effect, but results can only be considered to be a bit of a disppointment over the last couple of seasons.
