Thanks Raymo & Judge, I didn’t think anybody was still viewing after a terrible run of losers! It’s funny how things go at times. It all began to go wrong at Kelso one month ago when I chose to back Doubledisdoubledat over Total Asset (12/1) or both, not noticing the latter had won the race the previous year. Then (see the Big Races thread) I decided not to have a second bet in the race on Pete The Feat (London National), talked myself out of Moonlone Lane (16/1) at Ayr to back a horse with a hole in it and put myself off one of Amy Murphy’s at 40/1 in a hurdle at Huntingdon because I thought the favourite had better Bumper form! Also, as I expected when starting this thread, a couple I backed at 8’s or 9’s (so not included) BOG have won at 10’s. So, I’m not maintaining a good enough strike rate (was 35% at 10/1+ when I posted my figures in the Fancy vs Value thread on Dec 19) whereas the then 3% SR at 8/1 & 9/1 has risen. Think it shows the figures captured at that (or any) moment can be unrepresentative.
Nevertheless, I will continue this thread to the end of the core Jumps season. But next season I think I will start a thread containing all my bets. After being +2221.15 last season I am currently +1795.33 this. Got to about +1360 on Boxing Day, fell nearly 200 off this at one point in early to mid Jan but from about 10 days ago things turned back the right way, slowly for a week, then with a rush over the last few days…cue losing 50 on Ayr Monday!
