When looking at the race I thought although the two principles seemed to have a similar chance on “form” – Soll had such a hard race at Sandown, so wasn’t as likely to show his best. Unioniste put up his best run for a long while last time, has a good record on very soft ground and stable in better form now. Corrin Wood had a chance on his best form, but hadn’t run to it for a long long time. I kept an eye on his price to see if there was any confidence in the market, there wasn’t. Neptune Equester isn’t a bad sort, but up against it getting 15 lbs less off Unioniste than in a handicap.
