2.25 sandown now down to four runners
February 6, 2016 at 11:35 #12325272.25 sandown now down to four runners
Unfortunate nwalton. Bitofapuzzle was always going to be a non-runner (no deduction for Ubak for that) disappointing Maximise is out, Ubak now win only but have got 25/1 minus a 5p (possibly 10p) deduction about a hose who’s now around 10/1. With my other main bet Maximise coming out – Bristol De Mai becomes a bit more than a saver bet and 15/8 (minus two deductions) about something now 5/4 at best… Pleased with my bets. If anything Bristol De Mai’s chance is the one increased most by Maximise’s non-show, being more likely to get an easy lead.

64 points @ 11/4 (Sportsbook) Arthur’s Oak* (min 5/2)
29 points @ 11/4 (Sportsbook) Bold Henry (min 5/2)
14 points @ 7/1 (Sky) Chris Pea Green (min 13/2)OMG
Wanted to be against Mr Mole, he’s come out and now Grey Gold’s done the same, the only one haven’t backed is the 6/1 outsider of four. Trouble is wanted to be against Ulk Du Lin because of his temperament; a very small field may well make it easier for him. Although it’s also played in to the hands of the main bet front runner Arthur’s Oak if UDL doesn’t take the Williams horse on.Value Is EverythingFebruary 6, 2016 at 13:56 #1232568^ Got away with it.

BDM dictated and won well. Ubak never looked to be travelling even when pace was slow, hasn’t had much racing and hope things are alright with him.
Value Is EverythingFebruary 8, 2016 at 11:09 #1232798Not done much week days recently for all sorts of reasons.
Will get back to it probably Wednesday night for Thursday.Going to Lambourn’s Oaksey House tomorrow for a Racing Quiz, taking on the great, good, bad and indifferent of the racing World. Good job it’s not today.
Value Is EverythingFebruary 10, 2016 at 14:20 #1232984To win any race at the Cheltenham Festival:
33 points @ 10/1 (WH) Shantou Village*Albert Bartlett
Don’t want to make him a main bet because of his jumping, just a saver:
25 points @ 3/1 (B365) Barters Hill (min 3/1)If you aren’t on already, suggest backing Shantou Village for the Albert Bartlett, the 8/1 is going fast.
Value Is EverythingFebruary 11, 2016 at 15:33 #1233117I read your bit about trainers in form on the other thread. Clearly an important consideration. Where would you have Kim Bailey at present? I have been disappointed with a few of his recently. Horses dropping away at the business end and Bass seemingly not exactly throwing the kitchen sink at them.

I can see why you think that, quite a few of late haven’t run well Stilvi, but did have winners on the 7th and 8th of this month. Usually when a trainer has two winners fairly recently I rate him/her fairly highly, but here because of the rest it’s a 4 out of 10 for “just about ok”, possibly a 5.

Are we down to a three yet? Gaelic Myth’s run was at best alarming and the other runner although ending up second didn’t really see his race out. Suppose we really need a short one turned over.
The fly in the ointment appears to be Charbel who managed to make all on a day when making the running looked very difficult.

36 points each way @ 6/1 (B365) L’Ami Surge* (min 5/1)The possible profit on the L’Ami Surge bet if it’s placed is £18 so…
18 points (win) @ 4/1 (B365) Top Gamble* (min 4/1)
You’ll probably get at least 9/2 if not 5/1 in the morning, but I won’t have much time to put the bet up.
If Lami Surge is a non-runner then suggest a bet of 55 points at 11/4 or 60 @ 3/1 Top Gamble.Value Is EverythingFebruary 13, 2016 at 00:33 #1233407Betfair Hurdle

21 points @ 16/1 (Sky) Sternrubin* (min 14/1)
Everything was looking good with Modus and War Sound shortening…until jockey bookings came out.
Top up:
5 points @ 11.5/1 (betfair) War Sound* (min 8/1) (£1504 available)
savers:
24 points @ 4.4/1 (betfair) Blazer (min 4/1) £2492 available)
