Happily topped up at the 13/2 mind you…..Amount of R4 Confused me Nathan, my bet was over the phone so rang PP and asked what the R4 was on my bet? they said “10p”.
Couldn’t quite work out why it would be 10p, so rang them back and asked what my actual return was from the 3:55? They then told me I got back £££ which I worked out was the equivalent of what my return would’ve been at the 13/2 SP without any R4. So presume they’ve paid me out the 13/2 because of BOG?Will look at my bank account when the money comes through from Paddy and change the numbers if any different.
I was surprised Fire Fighting went out again after first shortening in the morning. Had only £1.12 taken of my 8.4/1 overnight, but 7/1 was best I could find this morning; it then shortened before going right out to 13/2 again! Given the NR I really should have gone in again too, but a possible lack of pace when the front running stable companion came out did concern me! Still, can’t grumble, well, yes I can.

Both DS and TN are prominent runners, there is a possibility of a pace burn out with so many in the race liking to run that way. I also like another pace horse, Desert Command, but seems to run his best races when well backed, is uneasy at the moment. I’ll be looking at the early in-running market too, to see if there’s a lot of pace… and if so may save on hold up horses Picture Dealer and/or Run With Pride.
…But Doctor Sardonicus is the form horse, suited by distance and “going”, the improving horse and comes from the in form stable of the race. Only negative is if the run of the race (pace) will be against him, especially drawn out wide.

29 points @ 5/2 (B365) Arab Spring (min 9/4)Not one of these likes to race prominently. Best I can find is Arab Spring who sometimes (only sometimes) tracks pace. Seems a straightforward individual and with Ryan Moore in the saddle imo the most likely to seize the initiative and get positional advantage. Western Hymn wasn’t far behind leaders last time, but ground is likely to be against the round actioned galloper tomorrow, mostly held up and seems to have his quirks – so changing tactics might be a problem. Stable companion and Dettori chosen Eagle Top has class and would not be surprised to see him develop in to a top class 1m4f horse. But at this trip and has (so far) always been dropped out the back – might need his first race for over 300 days too – total change in tactics appears unlikely with teaching him for other targets in mind. Therefore unlikely to have the pace for this. Tullius usually held up, but does have miler speed. However, he was well below par last time and Balding not in as good form now than he was then. Niceofyoutotellme comes from behind in handicaps and may be effective in truly run races at this level. Improving, but this looks like being a different scenario. Tryster must show he’s as good on turf, but showed a remarkable turn of foot in a similarly slowly run race last time and is considerably better than the distances back to placed horses suggest. imo Is likely to have more speed than his rivals here.

I have no fear these days Gord.
Haven’t looked at the Golden Jubilee yet so don’t know enough of Pretend (on Muthmir for Kings Stand) good luck with him.
Thanks for putting me on to Tryster’s Royal Ascot chance, hadn’t thought about it but had a quick gander at the POW. Tryster must be value at 14/1. Backed him (win only of course)!
I know a racing writer who believes Ascot favours All Weather types. It is a slight worry but worth taking a chance at that price. As you say, Shamardal acted on most ground but he does have similar breeding to specialist AW horse Street Cry. Am gradually forgiving Shamardal, backed him @ 33/1 for the 2000 Guineas after his Hamilton maiden win .Seldom seen acceleration like Tryster. Think he’ll prove top class at some point, hope it’s at Royal Ascot.
