Could be one or two savers to this race.
Value Is EverythingOctober 28, 2015 at 21:19 #1219464Theory to the 3:40 is: Pace!
Where as in today’s race Artifice looked near-on guaranteed to have an easy time up front; in theory there’s masses of pace lining up here.3:40 Stratford
54 points @ 6/1 (B365) African Gold* (min 5/1)27 points @ 12/1 (L) Tara Road* (min 10/1)
16 points @ 6/1 (VC) Al Alfi (min 6/1)
12 points @ 8/1 (VC) Jayo Time (min 8/1)Value Is EverythingOctober 29, 2015 at 08:26 #1219476Just had a look at this 3:40 race Mark. Could be fascinating, as you say bags of pace, and in fact just about every horse seems to lead or race prominently. Depending on the amount of rain they get at Stratford, which could slow the ground further, the finish could be interesting – may well be a lot of tired horses crossing the line.
Stamina might be the key. Then again…….?October 29, 2015 at 12:00 #1219482Interesting that of the five “main bets” in the two races today, only Sun Cloud is still at a big enough pice to be worth a bet.
Woodford County advised @ 9/2 with minimum odds to take 4/1; now best priced 3/1.
Finish The Story advised @ 10/1 with minimum odds to take 9/1; now best priced 8/1.
African Storm advised @ 6/1 with minimum odds to take 5/1; now best price 4/1.
Tara Road advised @ 12/1 with minimum odds to take 10/1; now halved in price, best 6/1.Sun Cloud the odd one out: Advised 7/2 with minimum odds to take 100/30; now drifted to 9/2.
Two saver bets best price hasn’t changed.

Stamina might be the key. Then again…….?“Stamina” certainly Softie, but (unless a lot of it (pace) has been made of in the Racing Post?) I also think it might be run at too strong a gallop; against prominent runners and in favour of at least mid-div and probably hold up horses. Although most have been prominent at times, I think 8 of the 13 runners actually show their best form either leading or racing up with the pace, five either mid-div or held up. Hopefully connections of African Gold do not decide to race more prominently to supposedly offset coming back in trip; if so could back-fire. Expect him to race mid-div. As Twister’s stays quite a bit further (stamina) – think should suit him in particular. Tara Road will probably be dropped out the back; ditto Jayo Time. Tara Road has won over 2m5f on very soft, so it’ll suit him too (though doesn’t need a bog). Do have doubts about Jayo Time staying which is the reason why he’s only a saver; but could well get that positional advantage. Don’t expect to see him until late. Hobbs is in such excellent form and wise to have one in there just in case jockeys/connections work the race out for themselves. That said, had Al Alfa been a hold up or mid-div horse he’d definately be a main bet rather than saver and Hepijeu would’ve been saver rather than a no bet.
Who the bet/s are depends more on how I think the race will be run than who the best/best weighted horses are.
