I don’t believe William Of Orange has front run before Theo, so can see why you ask the question; but sometimes raced prominently. Last time out at Goodwood – when favourite – jockey seemed to give the winner a head start and couldn’t quicken. Looking at the form of all runners today it wasn’t easy to find a front runner and being an out and out stayer a slow pace definitely would not have suited. So – although it certainly helped Prescotts other horse (winner) too – personally got no problem with the ride. It wasn’t as if he went too fast.
If any ride it is Rob Havlin on Fun Mac that disappointed me. Can understand holding him up, but being so far behind the others – gave his mount an awful lot to do in a race that did not seem to be truly run.
