Two placed horses, might have been even better if they’d gone a bit quicker; but winner is a good horse. Saw Dutch Connection at Salisbury on debut and he and Estidkaar were the best looking 2 year olds I saw all year. Just thought he had more to find in one go here and Charlie not in as good form as I’d have liked.

Still, can’t grumble 87 points profit without finding the winner. :good:

    I try to please. ;-)
15p deduction but who cares with a 40/1 winner. B-)

This winner had little to do with my Timeform form book. Saw Amazing Maria win Goodwood’s Prestige Stakes at two in a fast time. Good looking filly with scope to fill her frame/improve. Backed her ante-post for last year’s 1000 Guineas but things went wrong for her. Ed Dunlop was her trainer at that time and he had a poor time of it pretty much from that point onwards to this day. Once changing stables I could see her improving for a trainer destined for the top. That said, I still only had her down as a 3.5% (fair 28/1) chance.

They didn’t go fast enough for my two in the first (second and third). Then shame the abnormal American horse beat my two in the Queen Mary (second and third). And The Corsican failed to get a place by a fast finishing 1/2 length after needing to wait for a gap; (fourth and fifth) in the POW. Could’ve been even better…

    Never satisfied. LOL

Yeah great result. The first time this season I haven’t backed her. Would have done had I seen the 40’s.

Thanks Joni, sorry Nathan. Saw you’d put Amazing Maria up as your”if absent” in the comp and wondered if you’d backed her. Unlucky there.

I’m a big fan of King of Rooks he caught my eye at Ascot on his debut and his form is Rock solid but at Even money I’ll take him on.I was at Nottingham the other week and a 2yo really caught my eye in the paddock called Ajaya,I obviously wasn’t the only one to notice him as he went off the 2/1 fav,he ran a race full of promise and was collared close home by another smart 2yo in ‘Dhahmaan’ who incidentally franked the form tonight. This son of ‘Invincible Spirit’ is 25/1 with Ladbrokes still but I’ve taken all the 25/1 with everyone else. B-) Just thought I’d share that with you pal as he is a serious e/w bet at that price.

Haven’t worked the race out as a 100% book because the two favs dominate the form. I’d estimate something like an 85% chance a Hannon horse wins this. In my opinion other stables have run their better horses in other two year old races at this meeting, scared of these two. Take Hannon’s out of it and left with a substandard bunch. Unless anything untoward happens in the prelims can’t see them both getting beat. That said, Ajaya would be my choice of third best chance too and Haggas is in good form. So if wanting to oppose the favs then think you’ve made the right choice Gord. Although if making it the only wager in the race I’d personally rather go for place only @ 9/2 with betfair than each way @ 25/1 in this particular market. Got Pricewise written all over him, suspect 25/1 will be freely available in the morning. Good luck. :good:

I see the 39/1 has now gone so will call it 37/1.
