All things being equal I’d have made Kings Gambit (one of my favourite racehorses) favourite for this. I was going to go in again this morning, but the unease in the market and the fact Harry Charlton hasn’t had a winner in August (20 starts) – and some have run disappointingly – puts me off. Especially when both O’Brien and Haggas are in brilliant form. Wish I’d made Illinois the second main bet but have missed the price. So I’ll leave it at that for now.

Not exactly Baynet.
Liquidity was poor for the Voltigeur last night.
£80 would’ve been the full bet, but I don’t advise £80 when only £11 was available @ the price…
Due to the stable form I was going to have half a bet £40 and the other half this morning. Am now glad it wasn’t available. Considering Diera Mile has come out, the unease in Kings Gambit’s price is more significant than it first appears. 3:05 will have an 8.3% reduction factor added to it.

Kings Gambit might win, but trainer form means in my experience he could also trail in last. Sometimes when a trainer is in poor form and a horse is still well backed (or even steady) it is a good sign it might be free of any possible virus in the yard… and they often win. But the two combined – weakness + the poor trainer form – means I’d now rather stay out.
