Arc De Triomphe
32 points @ 14/1 (B365) Sea Moon*If you aren’t on yet, get a better price than I’ve got now. 20/1 with Paddy and William. If you want each way (I don’t) then go for Paddy as he’s 1/4 odds. (min 12/1)
Saver (will probably have other bets nearer the time on outsiders).

7 points @ 10/1 (B365) Great Heavens (min 10/1)Value Is EverythingOctober 6, 2012 at 09:43 #415417I think that comes under the palpable error rule. Still showing 5/1 on oddschecker.
Was 9/1 for about 5 minutes, bet was accepted….how does the ‘palpable error rule’ work EF?
Afraid Eclipse is right Pants, if there’s clearly been an error, bookmakers don’t need to pay you out at the inflated odds, even if the person on the end of the phone accepted the bet. Sounds like a clear mistake.
Bet was placed online (you can see the price on oddschecker at 8.15am), was only £10 stake main bet was already on Mince but thought 9/1 was too good to be true, might well turn out that it was! Like EF says i’ll worry about it if it’s a winner, hope Mince wins will be a better return and can avoid a possible row with Laddies!!
October 6, 2012 at 09:48 #415418Looks like Ladbrokes will honour the bet as it is shown in the history. One of their odds compilers will be getting a ticking off.

Would be generous of them if they did Dalling as
Soul
was a 5/1 shot with them before the ‘rick’ and 5/1 afterwards so even if they said he should have been 9/2,not 9/1 wouldn’t add up.To small stakes ‘some’ bookmakers would pay out…….
Ladbrokes
in my experience aren’t one of them though! Lets hope
Mince
wins eh ‘Pants’!!

15 points @ 40/1 (L) Race And Status* (min 33/1)I had to ask for a price as he’s not yet in Ladbrokes betting.
Impressed me at Newbury, one of the best looking two year olds I’ve seen in 2012. Won maiden quite easily on debut, despite trainer Andrew Balding two year olds usually needing their debuts. Runner -up Bright Strike had earlier finished closer to one of Richard Hannon’s best two year olds Wentworth in what’s usually one of the best maidens of the year "Convivial" at York. By Ravens Pass out of a half sister to Oaks winner Love Divine (dam of St Leger winner Sixties Icon); Race And Status is a half brother to miler Dunboyne Express (by Shamardal). Also:

Value Is EverythingOctober 7, 2012 at 16:05 #415676I’m amazed you being a value punter never backed the Arc winner Ginge. I thought you had to be honest and came into say well done
I can’t for the life of me understand is why the winner went off at 33/1.
When she was beaten by Shareta I distinctly remember she and Shareta were being quoted at 10/1 and that was when Danedream and Nathaniel were still in. Obviously someone thought back then she would turn the tables on Shareta today.
Shareta on this ground was one of the first horses you could put a line through and she goes off at 14/1 and Solemia who has proven form on the ground goes off at 33/1
A mute point but I bet a few value punters latched on to her.
Can’t back them all mate better luck next time as they say.
Nice to see your still keeping your percentages up
October 7, 2012 at 17:19 #415689I’ve had a bad day Fist.
Bets in 5 races.
4 seconds.Orfevre 2nd (saver): Should’ve won.
What A Name 2nd (only bet in race): had to wait and winner got first run. Would’ve given Olympic Glory more to do. Though probably wouldn’t have won.
Izzi Top 2nd (main bet): Backed three fillies in this race, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th.
High Jinx 2nd (main bet): Also backed the 4th.
What makes it worse is the other race I bet in was the Abbeye. On friday morning I placed my Swiss Spirit wager (unplaced). However, at the time I was also going to back Wizz Kid. Changing my mind at the last moment and decided to wait… And for some reason on Saturday I was thinking I’d already backed it. Remembered late this morning, only to find the price had gone. To add insult to injury Wizz Kid was my main bet in last year’s Abbeye and backed it several times in the last year or so.
