Just placed a bet on Soul at 9/1 with Ladbrokes Surely a mistake?!
October 6, 2012 at 07:39 #415388I think that comes under the palpable error rule. Still showing 5/1 on oddschecker.

Was 9/1 for about 5 minutes, bet was accepted….how does the ‘palpable error rule’ work EF?
October 6, 2012 at 07:53 #415394In shop if a cashier accepted at bet with odds that were never available then it is settled at the odds available at the time. Depending on the stakes involved they may choose to honour your bet at the prices struck but oddschecker does list all the price changes of the participating firms so unless it shows that 9/1 was offered at a given time. Probably the best time to worry about it is if the bet is a winner.

Afraid Eclipse is right Pants, if there’s clearly been an error, bookmakers don’t need to pay you out at the inflated odds, even if the person on the end of the phone accepted the bet. Sounds like a clear mistake.
Value Is EverythingOctober 6, 2012 at 09:08 #415409Sorry,
With very soft ground today, think I should’ve reduced stakes. If you haven’t bet yet, I’d reccomend reducing all stakes by a fifth. My thread profit/loss will be calculated on original stakes (too late to go back on it now).
