Value Is EverythingSeptember 14, 2012 at 11:47 #413071I hope Certify wins as well Ginge! Today’s selections below, nothing original I’m afraid but got some decent prices last night hoping it a ‘favourites day’!
Only had 2 bets this week, Sole Power has to have been one of the bets of the year at 5/2, I’d been expecing evens, that set me up nicely for the week, backed Gamalati yesterday who to me looked the classiest filly in the race and was way over priced at 9/1 based on one poor run (unfortunately backed win only), she ran a stormer and will be one to keep an eye on next time out.
Sir Prancelot 3/1 – think the drop back to 5f will suit.
Sir Graham Wade 5/2 – not sure how he won last time and 6lb rise might not be enough.
Saddlers Rock 7/2 – Will forgive him his last effort, ground and front running didn’t suit, hoping he’ll confirm himself the best of the current stayers.
Certify 6/4 – Looks easier with the defection of Ollie Olga, should be too good for these.
Good luck today, sorry for high jacking your thread with my picks, I’ll grow a pair one day and start me own!?
September 14, 2012 at 12:02 #413073You carry on Pants, I don’t mind.
Timeform don’t seem to like Sir Prancelot much, disagree with their analysis. I said (think it was after the Coventry on this thread) believe he could do better coming back to 5f. Too free over further. Has the best chance of winning, it’s just that Sound Of Guns looked massively over-priced to me. Travelled supremely well last time out in the St Hughes at Newbury. Better than the winner Rosdhu Queen who went on to win the Lowther. Improving.
Again Saddler’s Rock has the best chance, excuses for last time might be valid, but it’s not certain, wasn’t that long ago either so I’ve just saved on him.
Colour Vision is so consistent and shouldn’t be far away from Saddler’s Rock.
High Jinx has been improving all year and this is the first time his trainer’s been in excellent form, so more improvement can be expected. If improving at the same rate would see him right up with them..Value Is EverythingSeptember 14, 2012 at 12:22 #4130741:15 Doncaster

First, second and third, shame it was in that order.
Well done Pants, won well. Hope Sir P can make up in to a good sprinter next year.
